A friend of mine had champagne (Sibley) a day after her delivery. Her husband brought it in the hospital and we all had a little, don't even know if anyone at the hospital knew it was there. I should mention my friend had maybe 1/2 a glass at best.

Our daughter was delayed IMO for crawling. She would do the army crawl at 9 months and started to really crawl at around 10 months. Ped. wasn't concerned though. She was also slower then other children when it came to pulling herself up and walking too (walking didn't happen until 16 months). DD is now almost 27 months and runs like a champ and again, her doctor wasn't concerned. I on the otherhand was really bothered by the fact that she was behind other children her age. I will say that she was talking a LOT sooner then other kids her age and has a VERY extensive vocabulary for her age. I've heard a lot of people say if they walk they don't talk, and if they talk they don't walk (or something like that). Essentially DD needs to work on gross motor skills more so than other kids her age since it's not as easy for her, but in other areas I feel like she excels so it's all a wash. We're not all exceptional at everything.

My almost 27 month old LOVES her crocs. She runs around in them and doesn't seem to trip any more so in them than any of her other shoes. I don't buy them too big for her though, I actually buy the size that fits her feet with and without socks.

But to answer your question are they "Okay" - not 100% certain but I would guess if they weren't okay there would have been some sort of recall/story or 20/20 show about how they're really bad for toddlers.

DD is 26 months old and in the 95% for height and 50% for weight and we're still on Whole, while the family drinks 1% or 2%.

I think it will vary with peds and children though. ie: diet etc...

I'm in my third pregnancy, 35 weeks - haven't gotten it this time, but have also kept my belly out of the sun during vacations this time around. My last pregnancy I had the line for several months afterwards, but didn't keep my tummy out of the sun. Felt like that had something to do with it, but I could be mistaken. Stopped BFing at 6 months with 2nd pregnancy and loofahed the heck out of my stomach - think mine disappeared around 8 months or so and I'm a darker skin tone (half Asian).

We did exactly this at Sibley, and it was awesome. I felt like we were able to get the right mix of bonding and rest. I found the Sibley nurses were really accomodating -- they brought DD to me to nurse when she was hungry at night and were happy to take her to the nursery when I called so I could get some sleep. During the day, I had her with me so we could all bond and hang out together. But when I was ready to sleep . . . bye bye!

Oh, and the nurses changed every single diaper while we were there. Loved it!

You lucky, lucky woman! WTH, when I delivered at Sibley in Feb 08 (due to deliver in a few weeks there again) I literally had to beg the nurses to take DD my last night, by wheeling her to them. I didn't get any sleep while I was there in the two days (probably about 6 hours combined, seriously) and DH didn't stay the night with me either. When the nurses did take DD they brought her back within an hour and a half. I was a mess - thankfully DD pediatrician saw how sleep deprived I was and that DD wasn't thriving as I wasn't producing enough milk since I wasn't sleeping/eating or drinking and yelled at DH.

Will make sure that I get my rest this time around.

I wouldn't be too concerned if your OB hasn't said anything to you. I'm currently 36 weeks and my visit on Friday was NOT a good one. Gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks. GULP! OB said, hmmmm 5lbs in 2 weeks what's going on? He then asked if I was having a lot of fluid retention - which I am thankfully (an awful thing to be thankful for but the alternative is worse IMO). But at the end of the day, just remember if you gain a few pounds too many as long as you have a healthy baby that's all that matters. The weight will come off and it's really only a temporary problem.

Hang in there, only 2 more months to go!!!

I am 36 weeks today and am getting my cerclage removed next week. What should I expect? Any insight and or experiences (pain, labor, etc) from other moms would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

My last pregnancy (DD is 26 months old) we got very lucky and nailed it on the first try based on counting days from my menstral cycle. This time around (I'm currently 36 weeks) we tried for a two or three (my memory is failing me) months using the ovulation sticks and having a lot of sex around the time I would have been ovulating. No such luck! Oddly enough I got pregnant when I stopped doing the sticks/strips and we had sex and I thought, I don't think I can get pregnant now. Well, wouldn't you know it I did! About 5.5 weeks after conceiving I was wondering why I could smell everything and thought, hmmm....let me try a pregnancy test. Came down the stairs (in shock) and told my husband "Uh, I'm pregnant". His response "How did that happen?"

So I think the moral of the story is it's different for all of us. Sometimes there's no planning/predicting when it will happen.

Best of luck though!

With DD (she's almost 26 months now) I had a postive pregnancy test very early on then had some brown spotting. I think I was 5 weeks at the time, aka "Barely pregnant" according to the doctors office at the time.

Best of luck!

I can only sympathise with you. I was put on bed rest a little over a month ago (I'm now a day shy of 33 weeks) and a few weeks ago our almost 26 month old started to wake up during the night. It never dawned on me that it was due to my not playing as much of an active role in her daily/nightly care. A couple of nights ago I started to put DD to bed and that seems to have (knock on wood) helped the situation immensely.

I would try to spend as much with your son once your OB gives you the okay, and definitely after the new baby arrives. I'll cross my fingers for the both of us. :o)

Best of luck!

OP here, thanks. Initially I was leaning to Big Apple, then thought RB since they have lots of animals (she LOVES animals).

As for cost, RB is on Travel Zoo at the moment so the tickets are fairly inexpensive (it's the additional fees that add up a little). Here's the deal so if anyone is interested in RB sign up for Travel Zoo (if you aren't already a member) to take advantage.

I haven't been to the circus in ages and want to take our 25 month old daughter. Any input as to which show is better for a 2 year old would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and had bright red implantation bleeding (and it was enough that I thought I miscarried and started my cycle). My last pregnancy (DD is 25 months old) I had brown spotting for implantation bleeding. A very close friend of mine had what she thought was her menstral cycle and didn't realize that she was acutally pregnant (think she may have had "2 cycles") and her DD is 26 months old now.

I would agree with PP and wait a couple of days and then try another pregnancy test again.
