Q about implanation bleeding

Anonymous
I'm about 8 DPO and AF not due until Friday. Started spotting some on Friday, and it's continued off and on, still ongoing today. It's light spotting, but bright red and a little stringy (sorry if TMI) - lighter than my period and it's way too early for that anyway. Can implantation bleeding be bright red? Can it last for a few days? HPT was negative yesterday morning, and I have on more (Target brand so maybe not that sensitive) to try tomorrow morning. Should I try to see the dr? Any point?

I had implantation bleeding that was heavy enough that I used a tampon for a day or so, and it definitely lasted a few days. I'd wait a few more days and see if the bleeding picks up or if the HPT comes back positive before calling.

I had implantation bleeding that lasted several days and I thought it a regular period. I wasn't trying to get pregnant at the time, so, as a result, I didn't figure out the pregnancy until 8 weeks.

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and had bright red implantation bleeding (and it was enough that I thought I miscarried and started my cycle). My last pregnancy (DD is 25 months old) I had brown spotting for implantation bleeding. A very close friend of mine had what she thought was her menstral cycle and didn't realize that she was acutally pregnant (think she may have had "2 cycles") and her DD is 26 months old now.

I would agree with PP and wait a couple of days and then try another pregnancy test again.

OP here. Thanks, DCUM'ers. Been trying for DC #2 for a couple of months (DC #1 was second pregnancy, after m/c at 5 weeks), and it's hard not to think about this ALL the time! Your responses give me hope!

Mine started off bright red around 7 weeks and turned to brownish. It lasted a couple weeks and went away. Then it started up again (bright red) around 12 weeks.
