Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
Just curious...mine is 12 months and perfectly happy cruising, doesn't like to let go. Looks like he'll be on the later end.
11.5 months. I encouraged him a bit (no pressure) to walk toward me from where he was holding onto the coffee table. Once he figured out he could take a couple of steps, that's all it took. (and a whole new level of parental exhaustion begins)
One was 14 months, the other 13 months. Perfectly normal, and both running shortly thereafter.
Mine started on her first birthday. My niece, however, just took her first steps at a whopping 19.5 mos!
9 months.
14.5 months for DD #1 and almost 17 months for #2.
15 months. Evidently both my DH & MIL also walked around then.
#1 was almost 15 months and #2 was determined to walk by the 1st birthday. Having an older sibling really seems to push them to walk.

12.5 for all of them, funny
enjoy not running after them for the last little bit
|
First step was on her first birthday. But she didn't really get up and go for another month or two.
15 mos. I think he was scared of falling and waited till he was confident he could do it. He never did fall much, or walk with that staggering, frankenstein walk some kids have (which I find really cute!) At 3 he is still a very cautious kid.
For both kids, cruising at 9 mo, walking at 11 mo, running at 11.5 mo. And they never slowed down.
11 months but I have a friend who's DD didn't walk until 17 months and she's perfectly fine. If your little one is cruising then it can really happen any day. One minute they're cruising and then you look away for a second and they're walking across the room.
Identical twins, 17 months, both started walking same day! Someone told me late walkers/strong crawlers are good/early readers. Mine were, but don't know if that's just a myth to make you feel better at the time....
14.5 months
