Cerclage removal

I am 36 weeks today and am getting my cerclage removed next week. What should I expect? Any insight and or experiences (pain, labor, etc) from other moms would be much appreciated.

I don't have any advice on removal as I just had mine placed about 2 weeks ago, question is for you...how was your recovery from your cerclage and when was it placed? I am still cramping a little bit and really took it easy for a week. I am still not 100% by any means...I had it placed at 12 weeks.

Just looking for some advice?

I didn't have any real pain at removal, just a little soreness. And labor still took a couple weeks (I had mine out at 37 weeks if I remember correctly). But every person is different.

I had a rough time with my removal - mostly because I got really tense and it made it more difficult for my doctor. It wasn't pain so much as my thighs locking. I had 2 stitches and had to take a break after the first one. The second one was easier because I was more relaxed. I delivered the next day.

As for recovery from getting it placed - I was on modified bedrest for a week afterwards and then was back at work. I did have to take it easy, especially the second time when I had a toddler at home. But after 2 weeks I felt back to normal.
