Do you really want to live the way they did in "history"?
Wealth begets wealth; the wealthy ensure this. Wealth concentrates in the hands of the few. Society polarizes - the serfs vs the lords, slaves vs. masters, the aristocrats vs. everybody else. These conflicts don't usually end well. Especially not for the outnumbered rich (French revolution anyone?) We've come a long way.... We may not have (many, visible) people starving in the streets now. Seems to me the current have vs. have not issue is - health care.
Just like it's in everybody's best interest to have a basic standard of public education, it is in your selfish best interest to provide a basic, minimal standard of healthcare for your fellow citizens.

Its your child's name and people will be using for the rest of that child's life. Its not some major secret that, if revealed, will cause harm.
Right, that's all well and good. Until you tell people the name of your baby female fetus and everyone refers to it that way and everything is monogrammed with her name and lo and behold a baby boy is born.
With our second, we said, sorry, we're not talking about names with anyone--the baby will be named when when we lay eyes on him/her.
OMG the horror! Getting monogrammed gifts that end up in the charity box or worse yet, you have to rip out the monogramming if you want to use it. Again, its the child's name. It's going to be used day in and day out for the rest of their life - its not going to be a secret.

I tell them, we love grandma, but we don't agree with her. I told them there was a time when people thought the earth was flat and witchcraft was real. Along with racism, they are mentalities based on ignorance.
I know there is no changing my grandma, but I take comfort I can guide my kids away from that mentality. And I smile when my oldest responds, "But Grandma, what if I didn't like you because of the color of your skin? That doesn't feel good, does it? Didn't you read the Constitution, Grandma? It says right there, we are all equal!" She shuts up after that.

Me too. The women who feel this way aren't doing themselves any favors with this way of thinking. This is the person you love and care about. You chose to spend the rest of your lives together and you come on online forum asking for tips about training. There are some really crap husbands out there, but some women need to reflect on themselves and the attitudes they bring to a relationship.
The same goes for you. Anybody in any profession/field that wants to perform a task or skill properly needs training. not only your dear pet or husband.
No, there is some truth to that poster's feelings. Yes, people do need to be taught to do any new job. But they will not learn if the expectation is that they are inept, are condescended to, and expected to fail or be mediocre in the best case. I think some posters reflect this negative attitude. If they were your boss at work, they would be the bad boss, who is tolerated only for a paycheck.

I just heard, popeyes in Kingstowne is closed. And my husband told me the wendys coming out of National Airport towards old town is gone. I dont get out and about much, but I know the last time I went to Springfield mall, there were a lot of stores shutting down. I did notice the indoor play area by the food court at Springfield mall was gone the last time I went to.
