If you’re thin what do you eat daily (and approximate calories)

Anonymous
No breakfast- this caused me to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do have a latte every morning though.

Lunch- either leftovers or hummus with crackers, cheese, fruit and dessert (couple pieces of chocolate or half a cookie)

Dinner- love dinner so I eat what I want here, full dessert

I usually have a large drink with dinner as well

I workout at least half hour to 45 minutes 6 days a week

5 ft 6 in, about 120 lbs, good genes

Anyway I literally have small bones fwiw.
I don’t drink my calories. I have one cup of coffee in the AM with a little sugar & a little milk - but other than that water and one la croix daily.
I should probably eat something different for breakfast but most days I have one packet of Quaker maple & brown sugar oatmeal made with hot water.
Morning snack is often apple & PB. And then it kind of goes downhill from there.

I drink alcohol fairly moderately. One to two drinks a week on average I would say. I exercise at least 20 mins 6 days a week.

I’m trying to limit myself to one dessert daily of around 100 cals.

I try not to do anything too crazy because if it’s too strict of a diet - I can’t maintain it. I try for slow and steady and what I can keep up with long term.

I do the oatmeal too. Satisfying and low calorie.

might as well just eat candy

Breakfast: coffee with cream and two poached eggs plus a piece of fruit (today I had two kiwis)

Lunch: spinach salad with cucumber, chicken, goat cheese, hardboiled egg, dressing and side of greek yogurt (sometimes with granola)

Snack: pistachios or almonds or fruit of some sort

Dinner: protein and vegetables. Last night we had marinated flank steak with roasted vegetables and couscous. Sunday we had braised short ribs with roasted parsnips and salad

Lots of water and I exercise daily. I don't really count calories?

No kidding. The piece of a chocolate covered strawberry is alarming

Who cares what I eat? You need to pay attention to what you eat.
I eat whatever I want. I do calorie cycling.

What? Are you equating oatmeal with candy? You have an eating disorder.

Portion control and not drinking my calories. The majority of my friends who struggle with their weight are “in denial” heavy drinkers who can easily put away a bottle of wine a night. They go crazy with workouts and nutrition plans, and then ruin it with alcohol and/or too many huge restaurant meals and desserts.

Whatever I want, just not as much as I want. I rarely eat sweets and it's a few bites at most. I take a few of my kid's fries. Drink mostly water, but will have a few sips of Dr. Pepper (my favorite). I don't count calories. I exercise 30-90 minutes a day, and if I've been eating too much junk it shows in my performance. I let things slide for special occasions. Practice moderation and portion control and you can eat whatever you want.

OP, I'm like you. I have to work out 1-2 hours a day and cut out most carbs and sugar to lose any weight. If I'm lucky, at some point my stomach shrinks and I don't feel as hungry and start to eat less.
My skinny friends and I had bananas first time when we were about 12. My stomach turned into a balloon and I got a horrible diarrhea. My two friends who had grown up on the same exact diet as I (We grew up in Soviet Union, same food, I promise), had no problem digesting bananas. I outran the two girls daily since I always played outside, but they simply had better genes and could handle carbs and sugar better than I. It is what it is. I will try again to lose the extra 30 pounds I have on me, but it is going to be a part time job watching what I eat, fasting and exercising 1-2 hours daily.

3,000 calories a day. 115 lbs.

Seriously, can we stop these threads? I’m 40 and I’m thin because (1) I have really good genes, (2) I run, and (3) I actually really like vegetables and healthy foods. Yes, I eat ice cream and French fries. But mostly I eat a plant-forward, locavore diet with lots of whole grains and leafy greens.

+1. Have never counted calories and never will. I eat a healthy diet of lean protein whole grains and fruits/veggies because I like it and it’s healthy for my body. I barely exercise but have good stamina and walk to get places. I enjoy hiking/skiing and do it when I can. I also eat some fries/ice cream/sweets/sugar just not boatloads bc it’s not good for you. I am 5ft 9in and weigh 120 pounds. Live healthy and the right weight for you will follow.

Anonymous wrote:I'm 5'7" and 120. Have been this weight most of my adult life. Now in my late 40s.

Breakfast: oatmeal with an egg and banana. On weekends it's usually blueberry pancakes or waffles. Black coffee.

Lunch: usually left over dinner from the day before. Before covid I ate lunch from the buffet at my work cafeteria most days, and always had a variety of veggies, fruits, and protein.

Dinner: one protein (fish, chicken, and pork are in heavy rotation), one veggie, rice with sweet potato.

These meals are all in hearty portions. I don't count calories but probably eat at least 2000 cal a day. Dessert is not an everyday occurrence, but happens more often in the winter months. We bake our own cakes and cookies, and always half the sugar as called by the recipe.

Things I never or rarely consume: soda, any sugary drinks, juice, syrup.

My exercise is 30 minute walk daily.

I’m 5’7” and to weigh 120 I had to eat 800 calories a day and take phentermine. I’ve been eating 2300 for a couple years and ballooned to 220. I can’t wait until scientists really understand metabolism. Enjoy your good fortune.

B: banana, oatmeal with flax and chia seeds, water
L: lentil soup, piece of sourdough bread, water
D: Marinated tofu, white rice, roasted broccoli, water
Dessert: a piece of chocolate covered strawberry from Trader Joe's

This is like 750 calories so...

Exactly. Yet she's getting the 'you go, girl' from other posters. Very sad.
