If you’re thin what do you eat daily (and approximate calories)

I’ve always battled my weight seems like I have to eat practically nothing to be slim

Whatever the f I want.

Seriously, can we stop these threads? I’m 40 and I’m thin because (1) I have really good genes, (2) I run, and (3) I actually really like vegetables and healthy foods. Yes, I eat ice cream and French fries. But mostly I eat a plant-forward, locavore diet with lots of whole grains and leafy greens.

I used to be slim. Idk what people think after I’ve had 3 kids - not as thin.
Anyway I literally have small bones fwiw.
I don’t drink my calories. I have one cup of coffee in the AM with a little sugar & a little milk - but other than that water and one la croix daily.
I should probably eat something different for breakfast but most days I have one packet of Quaker maple & brown sugar oatmeal made with hot water.
Morning snack is often apple & PB. And then it kind of goes downhill from there.

I drink alcohol fairly moderately. One to two drinks a week on average I would say. I exercise at least 20 mins 6 days a week.

I’m trying to limit myself to one dessert daily of around 100 cals.

I try not to do anything too crazy because if it’s too strict of a diet - I can’t maintain it. I try for slow and steady and what I can keep up with long term.

I have no idea on calories. But here's what I ate today:

B: banana, oatmeal with flax and chia seeds, water
L: lentil soup, piece of sourdough bread, water
D: Marinated tofu, white rice, roasted broccoli, water
Dessert: a piece of chocolate covered strawberry from Trader Joe's

I love this menu! (slender as well)

Whatever I want, I don't count calories. I get in at least 2.5 hours of walking everyday (dog) and I do strength training twice a week.

Today I had/will have:

Breakfast: N/A I never eat breakfast
Lunch: chicken breasts stuffed with sundried tomato pesto and mozzarella cheese; roasted broccoli and potatoes
Dinner: Snack on prosciutto and cheese while cooking. 2 glasses white wine, rice, Pork meatballs with spinach and mushrooms in a coconut cream sauce

I like to snack so lots of veggies and hummus and skinny pop popcorn. When I start breaking in to the kettle chips and wheat thins, things go downhill. Cracker Barrel sharp cheddar cheese sticks are a good snack too.

I do the oatmeal too. Satisfying and low calorie.

No breakfast - studies came out showing that the "you must eat breakfast to stay thin and healthy" was garbage. All eating breakfast does was add additional calories to your day.

Lunch - a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado and sliced tomato, with water on the side. I swear since I started eating this a year ago, my usual state of "borderline UTI" has stopped.

I sometimes have a snack in the afternoon - like a chocolate from valentines day or whatever.

At 7pm, DH and i have a cocktail every day. Plus half the time I have a little small bowl of bar snacks - like smoked almonds or a handful of cheese sticks. Dinner ranges from terribly unhealthy (like a giant bowl of cheesy pasta) to decently healthy, but always vegetarian. Dinner is almost always homemade with fresh ingredients, but we eat too much at dinner - it's our weakness. I have dessert a few nights a week - like a full on big cake slice or similar.

I run every day for 30 mins (weekdays) to an hour (weekends).

OMG. I would starve to death on that. Are you kidding me? That's all you eat? I'm 5'5", 130 pounds, and I eat at least 2,500-3,500 calories a day with at least 50 grams of that in protein every day. I'm active but I'm not crazed about it - I walk or jog a few miles, my job keeps me active, and I have a lot of kids so I am running around the whole time I'm home - in other words it isn't like I'm training for a marathon. If I ate what you eat in a day by afternoon time I would be so ravenous I probably would start eating my kids.

I don’t count calories but I consciously eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, and whole grain. I do have a weakness for junk food. I ate part of a bag of potato chips today. But I had oatmeal, spinach, cherries, banana, and protein powder in a smoothie, and a large plate of linguini with clam sauce. I’ll probably have some chocolate later. I run about 40 miles a week and have an active job on top of that so I can afford to eat whatever I want. I didn’t eat three meals today because I was busy but ideally I do eat 3 meals a day.

And I eat maybe the equivalent of one meal a day. Good genes is a large part. I’ve been 92-95 lbs since college ( except for two pregnancies where I got up to 135). I’m petite.
Breakfast: tea with lemon and sometimes a bit of honey
Lunch today was 1/2 a minneola orange and a roll (delicious home baked)
Dinner. Some leftover chicken dish with potatoes and onions, green beans and tomatoes PLUs another bit of leftover pesto pasta with shrimp

Then later while watching tv I will likely eat 1/2 pint of ice cream which I do MANY evenings

I did 1.5 hr stretch class today. And some days I walk or have horse riding lesson but mostly drive kids many hours every week and do lots of stairs running up and down doing laundry. I am very happy and lucky to be thin! But the age spots on my hands make me look at least 85!

Okay. Well we all do what works for us. If I get hungry in the afternoon I'll have an apple, popcorn, carrot sticks, pear, etc. But this is what I'm eating today.

I mean, you could eat 3000 calories of lentil soup daily and you wouldn’t starve to death.

Big caveat: unless you’re prediabetic. You’ll jack your blood sugar and increase your chances of getting diabetes.

I used to IF and when I wore a continuous glucose monitor I could see that if I didn’t eat by 9ish my blood sugar would shoot up all by itself.
