You have no heart, OP.

Get over it. OP should be able to enjoy her porch. If what she says is true, she can't hang out in her own porch because of a stray cat and the effect in her allergies.

I am highly allergic to cats. However, in my 50 years on planet Earth, I have never haqd an allergy attack hanging around cats outdoors

I had this done when I was 15 (I am 50 now.) Akmost no pain, except for when they pulled the gauze packing out and that was for a few minutes. Took about 5 days to be able to sleep on my side/stomach.
OP, time to chill

None. Just none. The free ride is over.

I grew up here. The generational poverty in these places is real and ingrained. They are used to be propped up by welfare and counted on it. Their choice, their mistake. These are neighborhoods filled with people who had years and years to make better choices, to move on, to get an education and to do so when the cost of living was much, much lower than it today.

Dear Anonymous poster, how about folks who are permanently disabled or suffer from chronic, severe mental illness? Or the elderly, on a fixed income, who cannot afford to drive to a cheaper supermarket?

Well with the welfare packages in this area, social security, and disability I am not really sure how some one cant afford to go a few miles for food.

My sister has crippling mental health issues, since 1988. She lives on $700 a month. She doesn't drive. What are folks like her supposed to do. FWIW, I do agree with a lot of your sentiments, but the blanket nature of your statements is chilling.

Maybe Monday will be better...
I'm looking for a good small business lawyer, competent, easygoing and reasonable fee structure to help me set up my business. I am going to be opening a retail store (non-food/booze) on the 1400 block of H Street NE in the District.

Here's what I'd need now:

1.) Set up appropriate legal and tax structure for a single owner enterprise
2.) Review the lease
3.) Assist (or refer me to) business licensing and resellers certificate.

It would help if they are able to work (are barred in) several local states.

On a second note, I'm looking ofr investors, but have struck out so far to the restaurant/foodie/cocktail craze that's hit the DC Metro in the past few years. Any suggestions. Just trying to reduce my loan obligations...

Thanks,

Chuck Murphy
So, Hi everyone. I will be signing a lease for 1419 H Street NE. It used to be a small church. I will have the main floor and also the basement. Lease signing is April 1, I hope to have the store open and running by back to school. If anyone would like to see my business plan, so you know where I am coming from and my plans to support the local community as well as selling shoes, then hit me up at shoeguydc@hotmail.com

I wonder if it's OK to link to my business plan here as well.

Stay warm! If you need to go out, bundle up and drive carefully.

Chuck Murphy
