How incredibly selfish.

What a ridiculous thing to say. I'm sure kids waiting around to be adopted aren't thinking, "if any single moms come up in here, I'll pass and wait for a couple."

That I can't tell Chinese and Korean children apart.

30 is not old/unusual to be unmarried & w/out kids- at least here. (Are you from the DC area?)

Also, adoption is an option. I did this as a single woman =)

Good luck. Enjoy your single life in the meantime. Life works in mysterious ways. Keep the faith that there is a "plan" for you.

My friend did that.

She wasn't married at 30 and decided to start a family. So she adopted a little girl.

She's since advanced in her career yet somehow manages to find a nice balance btw motherhood and work.

There are many different paths to take.

Do you date at all or is it because everyone is just too casual?

It's a combination of things, which we don't need to go into here, but in a nutshell: never developed romantic/flirtation skills despite being a sociable person, low self-esteem, and men never noticing or being attracted to me.

Are you a sexual person? Are you sure you're not gay?

THIS. I wish I had the confidence as a teenager to be firm when I called BS on my sibs and parents when they tried to screw me over (not in an abusive way, in a co-dependent way). I will do everything I can to raise my kids to think independently and not want to collapse into a puddle and give up every time they encounter something difficult.
