Favorite and least favorite place you've lived?

I'll start!

Favorite: Chicago. Great people, lots to do, low (compared to DC) COL
Least favorite: Miami

DC is somewhere in the middle

Favorite: Tokyo. Amazing food, amazing nightlife, amazing people. Expensive but so worth it.
Least favorite: North Carolina (Raleigh-Durham). Too much entrenched racism and passive aggressiveness in the people.

DC area: a little on the negative side of the middle, but I think we're stuck here for the long haul. Oh well!

Favorite: Edinburgh, except for the weather.

Least favorite: I dunno. Small town in Connecticut, maybe - I lived there a year in college. Didn't like it.

DC is pretty good. Not my favorite, not my least favorite.

Loved: Austin
Hated: Sarasota, Fl

I'm at about an 8 with DC. There's a couple downsides but by and large, it's way better than most other places.

Loved: Orange County and Denver. Equal love

Hate: well.....DC by a landslide. Too much hatred, bad attitudes, ridiculous COL, bad weather, intense parents. the list is long. But we are here for now. I do appreciate that we have well paying jobs though!

Love: Washington, D.C.
Hated: San Francisco. Yes, I know that it's everyone's favorite place. I found it to be too cold and windy, and it to be filled with superficial, self-important people across the board. If I never meet another poly trans vegan kundalini yoga practicing iron man triathlete again, I will die happily. I do miss that perfect produce, though.

What did you hate about Sarasota? Husb and I have been thinking about moving there, though we've never been. (We imagine - stupidly? - better weather, cheaper cost of living, outdoorsy stuff to do, enough artsy activities and people to keep us satisfied.)

Favorite: London. Very expensive but so many things to do/see. The weather wasn't as bad as I expected. There wasn't as much rain as I expected but it was overcast a lot.

Least Favorite: Kuwait. Boring as hell. I'm not a big drinker but that's all I wanted to do there and I couldn't.

I can believe that. Anal but trying to act cool and laid back.

Favorite: London
Favorite US location: Boston
Least favorite: "North Potomac" aka Rockville/Gaithersburg

Everywhere else I've lived falls somewhere in between.

Hated: Pensacola, FL. Not a good place to be an ethnic minority.

Loved: Honolulu....But I knew it was only for 6 months...probably would have hated it after a year

Favorite: Outside Portland, OR. Loved everything about it.
Hated: Outside Danbury, CT. Such an armpit of an area.

Love: Monterey
Hate: dc
Anonymous
Favorite: London (without kids) and Palo Alto with kids

Least favorite: DC (I appreciated some things in DC but after having the kids the constant traffic, intense parenting, weird race relations, all just got to be too much)
