I liked the twist with Cassidy's husband at the end.

Also really loved the piano gift and seeing the start of little Jack's musical education. I sure hope we see more Jack flash forwards.

All small things but would look like red flags in hindsight if he turns out to be controlling and abusive. Plus Kate is in a very vulnerable place, probably longing for affection and attention but without her protective dad or clued in mother to see what's happening.

I'll add: If he does turn out to be abusive, I could see this as the turning point toward her morbid obesity. At the time of her relationship with Marc, she's pretty small.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I know Jack (Kate’s dad) did not kill him self. But there were moments in earlier seasons where Kate has a very strong reaction to the idea of suicide. At the time, this was before we knew how jack died, and there was speculation due to Kate’s reaction to suicide, that jack has killed himself and that’s why she got so emotional about the idea of suicide.

This is what I was thinking too. Definitely think he turns out to be abusive.

I was thinking that he assaulted her or something too.... BUT, Kate didn't throw away the polaroid picture or destroy it or anything when she found it. She seemed to put it back in with the rest of the pics. I don't think she'd keep the picture if he was abusive to her. I wonder if it was drug abuse or suicide.... something that she would pity about her past, but not want to destroy the reminder.

I agree with this. I was waiting to see if she crumpled up the picture or destroyed it, but she didn't. So maybe it will be something like suicide. In any case, it made me happy to see Kate as a happy teen. And now that I know that it was just Kate and Rebecca living together during that first year after Jack's death gives me new insight into why Kate's adult relationship with Rebecca. What a weird dynamic it must have been going from 5 people down to 2.

Yeah, I noticed that, too, and it surprised me. Maybe she got pregnant and had an abortion or something? That would be an intense/difficult experience that Rebecca might have been too checked out to notice but that would not leave Kate with bad feelings toward Mark personally.

I think Marc committed suicide or had abusive parents which resulted in his death or maybe being institutionalized. Neither of them looked angry when they saw the picture. They looked sad. Everyone who thinks is was stalker-ish for him to look up her address must have never been teenagers. I would have jumped at the chance to look up my crush’s address on an application and would have driven by their house on a regular basis. I did not get a creeper vibe from him and thought they were a cute teenage couple.

We are obviously being led to believe Kevin ends up with Cassidy but I think and hope he ends up with Sophie afterall. I love their story. But if that’s the case, I’m not sure where Cassidy would fit into the big picture.

I don't think he'll wind up with Cassidy either. He was sort of beaming at her when he said, "yeah, he still likes you" when talking about her husband. I liked that part!
