Plot twist - he ends up with Cassidy's husband in the end. |
+1 I think it’s clear he’s doing his best to get Cassidy back with her husband. It’s nice to see him develop a friendship with a woman, rather than the expected romantic relationship. I love Kevin, but I can totally see how annoying he would be to someone like Nicky. I’m an introvert and his constant perkiness would drive me over the edge. |

Ok, finally an episode where I liked Randall again. It was fun to see him kind of conniving rather than over the top sappy. And the tie back to how Jack ensured he learned to golf was well done.
The Jack story about golfing with his future FIL was cringy, though. God, he got drunk and looked like a total loser! I also liked the sex story with Toby and Kate. Toby has been less annoying lately. Kate looks so pretty with her longer hair. |
+1 on Randall. I loved the Randall and Jack relationship evolving, and Jack learning more about his own blind spots on race. I think Keven and Cassidy is going to end up as destructive for one or both of them. |
I want Kevin back with Zoe, so I found the fact that he's stalking her (but not in a creepy way!) online to be rather encouraging. I hope that little tidbit means that she's not permanently out of the picture. |
| TBH I would not have wanted my daughter to date a drunk, violent Jack either. At first he was trying to help Jack get a better job and fit in. Go Dave. |
Yup, I totally switched teams and started rooting for the obnoxious dad. I would be pretty horrified if my child dated someone who got drunk with me the second time I saw him. Plus, Jack was just kind of a jerk the whole time. I get that he was offended by what Rebecca's dad said after that first dinner, but a man who loved Rebecca in a healthy way would get that her dad was just looking out for her. Jack is supposed to be this super empathetic guy who values family, but he couldn't put himself in her dad's shoes enough to just think hey, whatever he thinks of me now, I'm going to show him I'm a good man and good enough for his daughter. Then just quietly go about doing it. Her dad was right. Jack was not in a good place financially or emotionally. |
Also, despite what her dad said, by introducing him to his friends and encouraging the professional connection, he was actually trying to help Jack become good enough for his daughter. That was pretty generous given his misgivings about Jack, but Jack could only react with a chip on his shoulder. |

I wasn't thrilled that Kevin hooked up with Cassidy.
LOVED the last scene with Randall being awesome at golf all along. "Playing the game" like dad said! Also loved Toby and Kate. |
How is it being celebrated? As a PP said above, there are millions of obese people in the world, and you are seeing one on TV. Are you saying that the mere fact of her being on TV is a celebration? |
I hated that the hooked up with her. It cheapened their relationship. Especially when he knew her husband still loved her. |
+1 it's not a celebration at all. If anything her struggles with weight have been a recurring theme that while they teach people not to hate themselves and submit to the depression that can come with being overweight, her character in no way is celebrating it. |
I think that PPP has disordered eating herself. She keeps bringing up Kate's weight being "celebrated" when there is nothing to support that argument. |
Dave confuses me. When Jack first met Rebecca’s parents at that dinner, Dave took him aside and made it clear he would do everything possible to prevent Jack and Rebecca from becoming serious/getting married. Yet then he’s urging Jack to interview with his friend? Was he just using the golf outing as a way to embarrass Jack, or was he sincerely trying to help him? |

I yelled at the TV when Cassidy and Kevin got together. They were so clearly in the friend zone, it was cringey to see them kiss. I’m hoping they realize it was just a spontaneous thing and didn’t mean anything serious...
I LOVED the ending where we see Randall is actually an excellent golfer. That really threw me!! I found him very believable as an awkward golfer, especially given his childhood aversion to sports. That was a very clever twist that I didn’t see coming. I’m bored with Kate and Toby. |
