Quickly Losing 15-20 Pounds

Not OP but wondering if anyone can recommend a good meal delivery service that would do all the “thinking” for someone trying to lose weight.

We used territory for awhile and the quality went down. More recently we were doing mighty meals and those were awesome. We are back to meal prep again on the weekends to save money and because we ended up ordering the same ones over and over again.

My husband farts in his sleep and loses 25 lbs by dawn. It’s just easier for dudes.

I lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks by working out hard 90-120 minutes every single day (running + lifting), quit all alcohol and processed carbs, and ate lots of lean protein, veggies and drank a ridiculous amount of water. I was heavier than you but not obese.

My husband simply decides he wants to lose 15 pounds and wakes up the next day at this new weight.

You need to get down to around 1500 cal a day to do this or get close in that amount of time. Most people don't have the discipline to do commit to this because it's too hard.

Not OP, but that is not going to cut it if she is in her late 40s/early 50s. I genuinely eat around 1300 calories a day, and have for months, and have lost literally 2 lbs. I'm 53.

I second the poster who said keto. Especially if you’ve never struggled with weight before, this should do the trick!

Keto is a fad and not sustainable. She should not do Keto unless she wants to do Keto for the rest of her life.

I disagree. I'm the first poster to suggest keto, and what I did was two months of true keto and then backed off after I lost the weight I wanted to lose. Now I just am really careful with carbs and I no longer crave them (or sugar) like I used it. Been able to keep the weight off.

Congrats, you're the anomaly. Also, carbs are not evil.

Start looking at photos of models or thin actresses for motivation (worked for me). You went through a divorce so the weight crept on because you weren't paying attention to what you were doing. Start paying attention. Make this semi fun and uplifting- it's a new day!
Try to sneak in exercise moves and steps whenever you can. Get some resistance bands, ankle weights, etc and follow some good workouts on Instagram (so many amazing accounts). Eat fulfilling foods that are low fat and low calorie.
Reward yourself with a good glass of wine at the end of the week and then try on clothes when you're a little tipsy

I am so frustrated. I only realized because none of my clothes fit. It’s largely contained to my gut but I wouldn’t mind toning up all over.

Anyone know how to do this fairly quickly, like 4-6 weeks? Obviously starving myself and exercising two hours a day is not the answer but I would like to be able to wear my clothes again.

I'm 160 and want to be 130-140, I don't have the answer...I've literally tried everything. I hit my 40's and the weight does not just come off easily even if I starve myself. It's so weird!! I can lose almost 10 pounds but drinking water and a salad a day later will have me back up 5 pounds. But I know it's possible bc we see Actors fit and slim on tv who are older, so it is possible. I started going to the gym this year, coupled with eating VERY healthy, I'm hoping something happens tis year. The weight is so annoying, good luck to you.

While you lose weight, OP, buy yourself some clothes that fit now. Don't torture yourself getting dressed while you try to lose the weight. You deserve to get up every day and put on clothes that fit you regardless of your weight.

Unpopular opinion on DCUM, but I did semaglutide for 3 months, lost 17 lbs, then went off it and back to IF (17:7) and have been able to maintain the weight loss (6 months so far).

For background, I have been consistent at clean eating/ IF / exercise for many years, but a medical condition/ meds/surgery put me 20 lbs overweight and none of my usual tactics were working, so I used a medspa for semaglutide prescription ($300 mo). I stayed with a relatively low dose, as it was working.

I am pretty disciplined, so I think I will be able to maintain. Any day I am tempted to eat a donut, I think about how miserable/nauseous I felt on sema, and I refrain.

I have nothing invested in this but Noom has been amazing for me and a lot of friends. It works. Download and start right away. Plus it’s fun. Doesn’t feel like dieting at all.

If you are female it’s bad advice to skip breakfast, because you have a natural cortisol spike in the early morning which wreaks havoc in your body if you also consume caffeine, work out and don’t provide any fuel. You should at bare minimum eat a serving of nuts first thing when you wake up - walnuts are best in terms of nutrient profile.

Losing weight rapidly almost always means losing some muscle mass and not just fat. That changes your metabolic health and if you regain the weight you lost you’ll be fatter overall than you were before. Weight training is CRITICAL to losing weight without messing up your metabolism.
