So she says. I wouldn’t believe any of that. She’s watching too much tik tok. Let me guess she’s wearing a cgm too. Don’t take health advice from idiots. |
Nutrition studies can prove that almost everything is super healthy and also terribly unhealthy. Eggs, coffee, wine, oatmeal, even kale has varied health benefits and demons.
If you like it, it keeps you satiated, you have energy, your bowels work well, and your blood tests are fine—then oatmeal is good for YOU. And that’s what matters. |
Plain instant oatmeal without sugar isn't bad for you!!! |
lol |
It’s totally fine. |
Especially after spending time on Tik Tok. Sounds like she’s afraid of carbs. There’s nothing wrong with carbs - especially for breakfast. If you’re eating 100% carbs the rest of the day, that’s not healthy. Oatmeal and banana is perfectly fine and healthy. She sounds like the GNC person who claims an apple is worse than a candy bar. No. |
It’s fine but I wouldn’t eat it if I was trying to lose weight or control cravings. It’s too carby. |
What does this mean? Do you mean you eat a lot less than the 100% of carbs from nutrition labels in a given day? Or you just mean you avoid carbs in the morning? |
It's one of the carb=bad tik tokers. Carbs are fine |
For sure. Next we are going to hear about strategies to intake negative percentages of RDA for carbohydrates. A true path to optimal health and one where your brain will function impeccably and you’ll have tons of energy. |
Probably because it is processed to be instant vs just plan steel cut oats
also I seem to recall that there are t specific oatmeal health studies but rather studies on whole grains and / or fiber and its effects on health and oatmeal had both whole grains and fiber. I thinks it’s. a good choice as compared to many other breakfast choices. |
I avoid grains altogether. When I was pregnant and nauseous and not as concerned about weight gain, I had rolled oats every morning. I have a hard time sticking to maintenance calories if I incorporate grains and other high carb foods. Idk why people here are so offended by that—just my experience |
Same I do better with protein like eggs or unsweetened Greek yogurt in the am. Way less cravings throughout the day. Oats just did not work for me as I got older. OP, ymmv. |
Oatmeal is really heathy and nutritious. Ideally you’d be adding some fat and protein to it, through nuts and/or milk and some berries or fruit sweeten it. It’s a perfectly balanced breakfast with the heathy add ins. But definitely the old fashioned rolled oats or steel cut oats are heathier than instant in a packet |
It’s delicious but I cannot eat that many carbs. I would have to eat a huge bowl to feel satiated, and I have PCOS and simply can’t eat that many of my daily carbs in one sitting. It’s not inherently bad at all…but can be for some people. |
