Yep, I wish there was more humor too but it takes wit which the writers don’t have. I thought the dinner scene was rather nice though. I mostly liked this episode but hated the end where Viserys mistakenly blabbers to Alicent about Aegon’s dream. It looks like the Hightowers’ power play for the throne is going to be justified as a wacky misunderstanding. |
| This last episode was the best of the season. It’s getting better. |
+1. I find this plot device irritating/infuriating. The Queen, who has much to gain if her son takes the throne, is the only person to hear this conversation? Ok. I don't LOVE this show but I find it interesting enough to stick with it. I think they are ending Season 1 too early though. A full fall season of a drama used to be a good 12-13 episodes. 10 is pushing it unless they are starting again in the spring, and they aren't. Season 2 is going to have to be amazing in order to draw people back. And I kind of think people are done with the shock value of torture, gore, and violence that was introduced in GoT. I do find in sort of fascinating that Alicent and Viserys' children are all uniformly terrible in their own way, while Rhaenyra's boys seem lovely. The little romance between Rhaenyra's boys and Velaryon girls was sweet, as was one of them dancing with Helena. Alicent seems to have some very decent qualities, so it's odd that her sons are little degenerates. I didn't understand anything at the end with the dark haired lady from the ?brothel? I assume the little boy is Aegon's son and the only reason I can see what it matters is Alicent's crusade against immorality, which I have never really understood. I was very grossed out by the King's appearance and could not watch most of that scene where his mask had fallen off. |
So I was waiting for the recap at the end and there was none. Where do I find the recaps? |

Nah. Otto and Alicent were going for the throne either way. That much has been clear from the beginning.
She can't possibly believe her husband wants that nitwit Aegon to rule. Even she can't stand him. |
Even if he is a nitwit, being the chosen one gives his claim to the throne more legitimacy, especially in Alicent’s mind. That detail isn’t necessary imo and presents a silly and convenient excuse for the Hightowers’ upcoming throne grab. Just show the characters as they are, even Rhaenyra is shown as being far more spineless than she should be. |
And yet in Aegon's entire life, Viserys NEVER mentioned this before? Yeah right. |
True, which is why the scene is so pointless. |
| To the people who just can't seem to figure out the genetics of the hair color(?!) or skin color, or the storyline, or cannot even find the RECAPS --I'm just...find another show. Many thousands of people love this show. |
Completely disagree. I had so much more hope for it at the beginning. Instead its just geneology reenactment. This person married this person, gave birth to this person, this other person died. And so on. |
I really like it. Maybe I am missing GOT so much but I could watch Matt Smith play this character all day every day. He is really good at the side eye and perfectly timed smirk with a "hmmmpf." I mean I have never rooted for a niece and uncle to get it on before and now I do!

I agree it's absurd. Firstly, he has made his clear-minded intentions explicit from the throne in the presence of dozens of witnesses EARLIER IN THE SAME DAY. Secondly, he references a dream/prophecy that she has never heard before while he is in a 'milk of the poppy' fever dream. He says Aegon is the true king--well, there are 2 Aegons, 3 if you count the original. It's ridiculous. Allicent is ridiculous to be acting on account of this. |
I think Aemond is absolutely creepily hideous. I mean really hard to look at. I mean, Ramsey Boulton was a horrible, sadistic character that you loved to hate. But he was at least somewhat easy on the eyes. This guy is just straight up fug:

No one would make a big deal about the genetics and hair if this wasn’t a major issue in both series. |
Bro is a dead ringer for Crispin Glover:
