Exactly. Rhaenyra’s sons are half Targaryen blood same as Alicent’s. No reason any one should be more blond than any other. Yet they make a huge deal of the fact that Jace and Luke and Joffrey have brown hair. |
He looks like he should be an elf in the LOTR series. Honestly he looks nothing like his “brother”. And the aged-up actors look nothing like their younger counterparts. My husband can’t understand why all the adult male actors are the same (and haven’t aged) and the women are all being replaced every episode. |
| The women were replaced once. Not every episode. |

The word “bastard” should come back into vogue
So many bastards! In America today |
Yes! This is the thing we've been missing.

Honestly, a lot of things would be better if more emphasis was placed on functioning family units. And I am neither religious nor a Republican. |
I’m sure you meant the director/cast interviews on HBO, and that I don’t know. But for anyone who likes reading recaps after shows, I recommend Vulture. (I find their website hard to navigate so usually Google “Vulture” with the name of the show.) I’m a long-time recap fan who saw first Television Without Pity and then The AV Club rose and fall, so I’m happy to see a new one on the rise. |
| Not sure what it is but I find Larys so annoying. Wish someone would beat the sh!t out of him!! |
He’s so slithery |
| So disappointed that Rhaenys didn’t burn down the Hightowers/Targaryens then and there. She literally had THE opportunity !! |
Yeah, kinda weird it didn’t happen. Perhaps the dragon’s ability to spew fire is affected if it’s been chained in the basement for a prolonged period. Also she still believes that Rhaenyra secretly had her son killed so she could marry Daemon. Perhaps that player into her decision. |
She's not a monster or kinslayer. I also think she held back out of respect/love for Viserys as those are his children. Maybe also to show them, Allicent specifically, that violence is a choice. I do think she could have burnt those f*ckers Otto and Ser. Criston to a crisp and few would have minded. |
I just don't get the point of what she did then. Why bust up the whole place, likely killing a whole bunch of people in the process, just to turn and fly away? I know it was some sort of signal that there would be dissent, but seems unnecessarily destructive. She should have killed at least somebody to make it worth it.... |
My thoughts exactly! |
I'm the pp above saying she's not a kinslayer. I hear you. Her restraint would have made more sense if in the previous episode she hadn't firmly allied herself to Rhaeynera by agreeing to wed her granddaughters to Jace and Luke. If she hadn't committed to that yet, then I could read her dragon (in)action this episode as more of a "This isn't my fight. But do not mess with me again." |
