I'm sure negotiations are ongoing to get them to shut up and have them enter Ukrainian territory in an unobtrusive way...

"They fell off a truck" and Ukrainian farmers found them and towed them to a Ukrainian runway with their tractors

It would not be the weirdest thing we have seen come out of Ukraine in the last two weeks

It actually wouldn't be weird at all. I was just reading that we did something similar in WWII. Left military equipment near the Canadian border, and the Canadians retrieved it and gave it to Britain.

I'm sure Poland could just park the jets where the farmers could come tow them.

The best thing would be for the jets to get lost and show up in Ukraine. Poland sent the planes to US air base in Germany. Now the US said they have to go back to Poland. Polish pilots are already back in Poland, US pilots can’t flight the plane….have to bring in some pilots who know how to flight these planes…

Nope, Russian. Linked to the oligarch known as “Putin’s Chef,” indicted by Mueller for interfering in the 2016 election.

I’m giving it a week before some European leader says “America, you have always been a good friend of Europe; but your are always late to the game. Go ahead and do your American isolationist thing and show up when you are ready.”

Literally any EU leader has the chance to be a world leader; some actor from Ukraine as their president currently has the title.

Many consider them a unit of the Russian military that is used when deniability is needed or preferred. Officially they are a paramilitary not in the COC,

Private army/death squad run by Putin's friend Dmitri Utkin. Ironic that Putin calls Ukraine "Nazis" when his buddy Dmitri is literally a neo-Nazi - check his tattoos: Reichsadler and SS insignia. He named his company "Wagner Group" after Hitler's favorite composer.

This is rich from a person who takes their talking points from Tucker and Hannity.

I think Churchill famously once said something like, "Americans always do the right thing, after exhausting every other option."

The private Russian death squad that works for a literal Nazi that was sent to assassinate the Jewish President who is the descendant of a Holocaust survivor in the name of "de-Nazification."
If that isn't the worst kind of cognitive dissonance ever, I don't know what is.

Are private death squads subject to the Geneva convention? Just curious. Would be a shame if someone carved a swastika into their foreheads.

They’ve had plans of doing this for decades. They even call Siberia the “northern resource area” in internal discussions.

If I were Xi Jinping, I’d go for it right now. Start with a decapitating nuclear strike, accept some losses to a Russian retaliatory strike, and send my entire army into Siberia.

Seems unlikely. I think it's more likely they leverage Russia's economic mess to get lots of favorable terms on buying oil, gas and other commodities from Russia. Russia has little choice. China is the only major buyer left for them. Unfortunately, I think that's the weak part of the western strategy. We're likely to drive Russia into China's arms and make them a vassal state of China.

Not a single European country can do anything without the US. Even the UK, France, and Germany -- even together. They all have let their military fall to dangerous levels while they enjoyed Pax Americana. None have the money or the power to really impact anything. They have to take our lead or die. It is that simple. So we are the leaders. Anyone who would say what you said would just be ignored.

If this were to keep up, we would sanction anyone dealing in Russian oil which would mean China would have to give up its international trade with the US. If forced to choose they would choose the US.

We are not going to sanction China. It would be way too disruptive. The sanctions against Russia are going to be massively disruptive. Adding China to that mix would multiply that times 100.

We're not driving anybody into China's arms. The Russians are choosing to become serfs.

Think of the postives. Cheap Russian labor and commodities will reduce the price of Chinese goods and Russia will be China's problem now.
