Military observations on Ukraine invasion

Does anyone know enough to comment on this? Could they really only have one ship with long range missiles on it?

It was a key system and will make any navy operations more difficult. They do not have another shipping that has these capabilities. This will force their ships to redeploy - ie have to stay farther off shore, use three ships instead of one to try to replace capabilities lost, force protection radius will be reduced, any resupply and troop ship will be vulnerable, etc.

Also this was their best anti missile/ anti aircraft ship. It was taken out by two missiles. More anti ship missiles/anti ship system(mines, radar, etc) are coming. So think of it like this. You and your big professional MMA friend walk into a bar, start throwing your weight around and the next thing you know your MMA friend is unconscious on the floor. It changes the situation.

They do, but those other ships can't be deployed to the Black Sea. Turkey controls the straits into the Black Sea, and they've closed them to Russian military ships.

They tried that and lost the ship. Try it again and Russia will suffer more losses. I think Russia is running out munitions.

Turkey decide to close the Bosphorus to Russia’s military ships.

So their navy cannot leave.

America produces 3 javelins a day. That’s it. Ukraine needs a lot more than we can produce. The west needs to ramp up to ww2 production capacity now; or WW3 will get into full gear.

I can't quickly find it but I think I saw yesterday that Turkey issued a message that Russian ships can't enter but can leave the Black Sea.

That makes sense because if they leave the Black Sea they would no longer be a threat to Ukraine. Hopefully Turkey will revisit this policy if Russia also invades one of the Baltics.

You’re not familiar with the immense power and technology of the Russian Navy?
