I’m giving it a week before some European leader says “America, you have always been a good friend of Europe; but your are always late to the game.  Go ahead and do your American isolationist thing and show up when you are ready.”

Not a single European country can do anything without the US.  Even the UK, France, and Germany -- even together.  They all have let their military fall to dangerous levels while they enjoyed Pax Americana.  None have the money or the power to really impact anything.  They have to take our lead or die.  It is that simple.  So we are the leaders.  Anyone who would say what you said would just be ignored.  [/quote]
