I think the generals have had to get closer to the front lines to try to unclown the Russian military clown show.

In WW2 about 40 US general and flag officers died. Many though were plan crashes incluidng Nathan Beford Forrest III and a guy named Stonewall Jackson.

That is really not a lot.

IN WWII we lost 3 2 star and up flag officers to hostile fire. Russia has already equaled that number. It really is a lot.

And WWII lasted 4 years for the US. Russia has lost than many in less than a month.

At what point does China look at the mess Russia is mired in, with fully half their army ground forces committed and suffering 8-10% casualties, and decide that right NOW is the best time to take Siberia?

They’ve had plans of doing this for decades. They even call Siberia the “northern resource area” in internal discussions.

If I were Xi Jinping, I’d go for it right now. Start with a decapitating nuclear strike, accept some losses to a Russian retaliatory strike, and send my entire army into Siberia.

I don't know why Polish-American fighter jet negotiations are public, but every European country with old-fashioned Soviet era fighter jets that Ukrainians are trained to used is currently in DISCREET negotiations to get them into Ukraine. They will of course come with missiles, otherwise they are useless.

Perhaps the Poles wanted to leverage being the first to offer jets publicly to get the best financing offer by the US for a entirely new and modern fleet...

... because nothing is free is in this world, not even goodwill gestures to a country in desperate need.

Russia is recruiting fighters from Syria to backfill losses in Ukraine, likely to lose their grip there as well...

It actually wouldn't be weird at all. I was just reading that we did something similar in WWII. Left military equipment near the Canadian border, and the Canadians retrieved it and gave it to Britain.

I'm sure Poland could just park the jets where the farmers could come tow them.

There've been several videos now of farmers towing Russian tanks and equipment. Joke on Twitter is that Ukrainian farmers are now the 6th largest army in Europe.
