|
No idea on calorie counts but here’s what I ate/will eat today
Two cups of coffee with plenty of whole milk French toast made from stale hamburger buns, 4 pieces or two whole buns with butter and real maple syrup with a cup of whole milk to drink Leftover salmon filet with half a packet of Trader Joe’s frozen jasmine rice, probably 3/4 of a cup A cup of tea with a teaspoon of sugar and milk Dinner is frozen chicken cordon bleu, will probably eat one and a half of those with some rice and salad. Coke Zero to drink I usually have a small milk chocolate bar from Trader Joe’s every night |
|
Breakfast - smoothie with greens, mango, blueberries, seeds
Latte Lunch - Large salad with protein (usually salmon, chicken or shrimp), avocado and/or hummus and veggies Snack - coconut oil roasted Brussel sprouts; coffee Dinner - lentil soup with veggies Desert - square of dark sea salt chocolate |
Dieticians recommend tracking food, but I guess you know better what the world should do? |
I can count on one hand how many “naturally thin” women I know. They exist, sure, but they are the tiniest minority of all people, and frankly, even a minority of thin/healthy people past the age of 22. We need to stop thinking that’s the norm, and that there’s something wrong with the rest of us. I’m thin, but I work at it. Have had to ever since I stopped waitressing and got a desk job in my 20s. It’s normal. |
I do heat it up for a minute before eating. |

With the exception of a few of you, I'd love to see the rest come back when you are in your early 50's and report back on how your diets/calorie counts are working for you then. Sadly, things tend to change *for most women* in their late 40's, and you have to make major changes to either your calories or your food choices or both.
signed, fit woman in her early 50's who has had to drastically change eating habits and exercise to maintain fitness and desired weight |
She knows how to live life without obsessing about food/calories, isn't that the goal? Or you'll just continue dieting and counting calories daily, until the rest of your life? |
I am apparently in the “tiny minority” noted above, early 50s, and these threads feel nuts to me. I swear there are more of us than you think. |
73.6% of Americans over 20 are either overweight or obese. Being a healthy weight adult you’re already in a minority. So yes, those who maintain a healthy weight and don’t work at it are a tiny minority. Sure there’s “lots” of you, but there’s a whole lot more that aren’t. |

age 55, 5'7, 140 and I work out hard, but not long. I have so/so genetics for this.
I manage my portions. If we go out for pizza I eat a salad first then have one slice. Alcohol is my downfall but I try to drink water between drinks. It's doable. |
This is a chicken and egg thing. Naturally thin women don't HAVE to count calories,...because they're naturally thin. Those of who have to count would prefer not to, of course. Would be thrilled to be naturally skinny without having to count anything. And no I don't eat junk, drink soda, or even alcohol. |
Not quite - they are just capable of estimating when to stop eating, instead of overeating. |
Oh, this is me! Haven't checked this thread in awhile. No, I'm not a SAHM, I'm in senior leadership at a FAANG with young twins, and have great flexibility. I work West Coast time, so mornings are slow. I do about an hr fast walk with kids and dogs. Another decent walk with both at pickup around 4, fast pace picking up from childcare. Sleep and crate for dog for an hr. Kids go to bed. Unless I have late meetings (NOT uncommon) I bring my dog out even if it's 10pm for a run and poop. It's also great for me. My trainer routinely tells me to get another puppy, ha. |
There's no such thing as naturally thin. Women who have always been thin were raised not eating junk food for every meal or eating too much. Their eating doesn't change because they have always ate at or under what they need to to be thin. No such thing as naturally thin. |
