Those who are skinny can you share what you eat in a day?

You don't want to know. Lots of junk food, but I'm 52 and genetically lucky. I love ice cream and cake and cookies. I also eat healthy foods, of course - I love veggies, and I eat all sorts of meat. Not too much seafood other than shellfish.

One thing I do is eat only 6 hours a day. I've been doing this for over 6 years on the advice of my oncologist, and I'm sure it helps. But in those 6 hours I put away a lot of food.

Anonymous wrote:I run a lot. I also don’t really make time to sit down with meals during the day, so it looks weird due to that. This was today. Also, I don’t drink alcohol.

7am - coffee with a splash of almond milk
11am - leftover piece of bacon, half of kid’s cereal bar
3pm - some triscuits and cheese
5pm - cold black coffee and a chocolate chip cookie
7pm - meal with family. Baked chicken, brown rice, bokchoy with garlic and olive oil

I'm like this too. I basically have one main meal a day. I do drink alcohol regularly but it's a major appetite suppressant for me, so don't think it has much impact on my weight. I also just think my stomach is pretty small so I don't need a ton of volume. Actually, high fat foods do seem to satiate me really well. A glass or two of wine and a few bites of cheese and charcuterie would be a totally fine "dinner" if not with family.

Breakfast is usually one of these:
-oatmeal w/ peanut butter & a piece of fruit
-2 eggs & chicken sausage & whole wheat toast
-smoothie w/ protein powder/greek yogurt & a bar like a Kind bar or Lara bar

Lunch is usually one of these:
-salad from home w/ white meat rotisserie chicken, boiled eggs, lots of veggies, & ranch or blue cheese dressing. Or a salad out w/ some type of protein in it.
-turkey & cheese sandwich with a bit of mayo and spicy brown mustard, lettuce, and tomatoes plus veggies with hummus or pb for dipping
-Triscuit crackers w/ ham, cheese, & hummus along with veggies like cucumbers, carrots, and celery for dipping
-wrap sandwich with rotisserie chicken, lettuce, and buffalo sauce & Pringles and some celery sticks w/ pb

Dinner:
-I'm not a big red meat eater except for ground beef for hamburgers & a few other recipes I use it in. I usually buy the 93/7 ground beef.
-I'm also not a big pork fan unless it is pulled/smoked pork with BBQ sauce on a bun or on nachos.
-I tend to use lots of chicken breasts, fish, ground chicken, ground turkey, & rotisserie chickens
-I'm also not a huge pasta fan, so I do that about every other week and it'll usually be like fresh ravioli from Wegmans
-I like my veggies either raw or roasted - I can't stand mushy steamed veggies that just taste like soggy water

Tonight for dinner we had pizza because it was storming & I got stuck at work late. I needed 1 key ingredient to make dinner & I didn't feel like getting out of the car in the rain to get it, so pizza it was!

Last night we had grilled chicken breasts, roasted broccoli & asparagus, salad, and leftover rolls from the weekend.

Tomorrow night we are having fresh raviolis from Trader Joes (what I didn't want to get out of my car to pick up tonight!), pasta sauce, turkey meatballs, and roasted summer squash

I'm not a huge snack person, but I do keep some bars in my desk along with small bags of nuts and packs of crackers.

I eat dessert almost every night - usually something like a few cookies, a brownie, some ice cream, etc. - unless I'm too full.

We eat dinner out around once a week (M-F) and usually on Saturday evening as well.

This. I do drink. And I eat everything. I just love vegetables and am very happy eating a good salad or soup. I also run.

Yep, I'm a lifelong runner too and I eat reasonable meals and snack on junk food and sweets as long as it's not overboard.

Same. Don't run as much as I used to but work out hard 4x a week (used to be more...2 small kids now) and have workout out 4-6x a week since I was 20. I'm 43 now. I think that and moderation have played a significant role in keeping metabolism up and avoiding weight gain in the first place. Last year I started eating salad for lunch most days instead of sandwiches to increase my fruit/veg intake and lost a few pounds unintentionally.

They haven't seemed to figure out that if they don't know how to be skinny by now, they never will be.
I also think some posters on this thread think they are thin, but are probably normal size.

A lot of normal weight and even overweight people eat like some of these PPs, OP. You are not going to find the magic bullet here or any of the other many threads on this same topic.

Np. Not everyone can do that. Friends i know can't have their favorite snack because they overeat it.

You have to know yourself, op.

Why do you care what other people eat?

You maybe skinny but not healthy!

Moderation is key. I don't restrict myself except with packaged junk food. I eat dessert sometimes and I drink moderately. I also try not to eat between meals.

Typical day:

Breakfast - dark roast black coffee x 3 cups
muesli with whole-milk yogurt and berries/apple, or sesame bagel with chive cream cheese

Lunch - grocery-store sushi or poke bowl, homemade egg/cheese sandwich, or tomato/mayo sandwich

Appetizer/pre-dinner snack - blue cheese

Dinner - shrimp curry with vegetables
white wine x2 glasses or craft IPA x1

It's interesting to read that so many people consider black coffee to be "food."

Anonymous wrote:Today, I had a bhu keto bar when I woke up. I ate a very late breakfast around 11 am at the First Watch. Three breakfast tacos, and black coffee.
Then I ran errands and ate dinner at 6:30 pm. It was basically gnawing on meat from a roasted chicken. No drumstick or breast, just picking the bones off of it, and I ate what skin was there. Then I had two more keto bars (I have a wheat and dairy allergy, they are vega and no wheat, I am not keto). And I had pumpkin seeds for a snack.
That is what I ate today. I am 5'4' and 115 lbs. I was 107 lbs, but now over 50, it seems I am to stay above 115 lbs. That is fine by me.
But, that might not be thin for some.

This is an utterly wretched diet. Keto bars are not food. Eating chicken scraps like a dog? No one should emulate this person. Seriously disordered.

You eat a little of every single thing in your house every single day?

NP. There is room in a healthy diet for some junk. Orthorexia isn’t any better than other eating disorders.

It's not food, but beverages are relevant for context when talking about dietary habits, imo. It would be a different picture if I'd said I had a frappuccino every day with breakfast. Or 5 glasses of wine instead of 1-2. Those calories count for something
