The problem is that most are aligned--but they are not aware of what is going on with the schools. As for the candidates, they appear more of the same. Pay teachers more (I think we would all agree with that--but there are other ways to do it. For example, reduce the bloat in the administrators that never see a student.) 12 of Reid's leadership group make more than $250,000--and that likely does not include benefits. And, I'm sure that plenty of others make close to that. The question is: do these people do anything that improves the academic performance of our students? That should be the metric. Has Reid done anything but waste money? |

I don't know what her policy positions are, but Alexa has a lot more going for her than our current chairperson of the school board.
For starters, she actually has a college degree! (unlike Frisch). And she has a child IN FCPS (and has been in FCPS for 10 yrs). She has a masters degree in Instructional Design as well as an MBA. And she has been on the Advisory Board for Vocational and Technical Education for some years. So, she's WAY WAY ahead of a lot of the school board members based on her resume. That's something! |
Frisch isn’t chair of the school board, and even if he were he too has a college degree. A swing and a miss. Try harder MAGA. |
Frisch completed an undergraduate degree at UVA. |
|
Sizemore-Heizer must be over the moon about the win. She got to create a catastrophe that is the comprehensive boundary review, then take off shortly before students get screwed.
Bravo, Rachna, master stroke in screwing us over then moving on! |
Looks like a dweeb |
He just got it recently. What is it even in? Gender studies? |
I'm the PP who said I know her slightly, and as I said - she's superior to tons of people our county has elected lately. |
Frisch was the last chair of the school board. |
| If DCUM supports Alexa that’s probably a good indication that she’s going to lose. |
No, she’s the anointed replacement for Rachna just like Walkinshaw was the anointed replacement for Connolly in Congress. The FCDC activists want her and she’ll win. |
|
Only 18% of Braddock voters turned out for Rachna's election. She did win handily.
Don't expect any more than that for the SB election. We need better local news media. Turnout is left to the political committees. Only those on their lists know about the election. |
Says who? |
Look at her endorsements. |
Our neighborhood association reminded people. They just chose not to vote. You can't underestimate that the committees have the only people who vote because they have the only people who care. Of everyone on here whining about calendars and boundaries, how many people take 10 minutes to vote in every tiny local election? |
