Boo I really wanted Balbuena to win. Haven't some people already announced for school board? At least one I thought I saw.
Same. I’m disappointed.
Along with Karl Frisch, Rachna was the prime architect of the misguided Policy 8130 revisions that have resulted in such a debacle of a boundary review. But she's a Democrat, so she's now been rewarded with a seat on the BOS. Honestly, no one should bother complaining about anything the School Board does, because there is never any accountability. It's like Trump saying he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and still get elected.
+ 1 million. People come on here every few years and say the school board will pay for X, Y, or Z. They rarely do. Sometimes they don't get elected to statewide office, but they can get away with anything in the county.
Almost like the views on here are not aligned with the mainstream views of the average fairfax county voter.
The problem is that most are aligned--but they are not aware of what is going on with the schools. As for the candidates, they appear more of the same. Pay teachers more (I think we would all agree with that--but there are other ways to do it. For example, reduce the bloat in the administrators that never see a student.) 12 of Reid's leadership group make more than $250,000--and that likely does not include benefits. And, I'm sure that plenty of others make close to that. The question is: do these people do anything that improves the academic performance of our students? That should be the metric. Has Reid done anything but waste money?
