Braddock School board member

The casino has absolutely nothing to do with school board. Stop bringing all this political crap into a job that should be about education. Looking at the endorsements from current board members, it seems Dannan would be another who just rubber stamps Reid instead of doing the necessary oversight. The ones who endorsed Krezel actually ask questions- I don’t know that they’re particularly effective but at least they probe a bit rather than endless gushing praise of Reid. You would think Megan McLaughlin’s endorsement of Krezel would matter to Braddock residents. She was very popular. Rachna won the school board seat with lower margins than Megan had.

+1000. Dannen has the supporters he has because they want another rubber stamp for Michelle Reid. Krezel announced she was running first and the party apparatchiks coughed up Dannen because they didn’t want another independent thinker like Megan McLaughlin (earlier) or Ricardy Anderson on the board.

If you aren't willing to sign onto the FCDC conditions, you can't vote right?

Because I hate how their firehouse primary thing requires you to say you're voting for the dem no matter what. I refuse to guarantee that.

It's hardly enforceable. They just want people who identify primarily as Democrats voting.

Whoever wins the firehouse will win the general so this is the only election that matters for the seat.

I’m curious about Dannon’s main focus being the attack on public schools. I agree they are under attack but I don’t want that political factor to be the main focus for a candidate. I would expect both democratic candidates to stand up to attacks on public education and appreciate that we will at least have less of that from the state with the new administration. I would want someone who will focus on the quality of education, support for teachers, and fiscal responsibility.

Agreed. It's like he felt a need to take a loyalty oath rather than focus on other issues that matter to families.

So he's definitely the "establishment" candidate and Kretzel will actually work for Braddock families like McLaughlin did. Got it.

TBH no one is going to vote. My husband is the first one in line in early voting and I had to prod him to sign up… I get it. Rachna winning was such an albatross.

Best way to fix what is wrong. Like the comprehensive boundary study. There do need to be changes, but this was definitely NOT the way to do it.
