The candidate against Sandy, Debra Tisler, was an unhinged right wing nut who was backed by moms for Liberty then attempted to scrub it from her campaign materials to hide it. No thanks. Davis, on the other hand, at least doesn’t “hide” her political views as much as she is a chameleon and just changes them on a dime. Again, no thanks. |
Tessie Wilson held the seat and was a Republican. She left office in 2011 when Megan came in. |
| Elaine Tholen just endorsed Dannen. She’s an awful, hypocritical snob, so that in itself ought to be adequate reason to support Alexa Krezel, who has Megan McLaughlin’s endorsement. |
Davis hasn’t changed her positions nearly as much as Kyle McDaniel but a GOP-endorsed candidate has no chance in Braddock. |
DP. A lot has changed since 2011. Trump makes it virtually impossible for any GOP-endorsed candidate to win in Fairfax, and if any district would flip it would be Springfield, Sully, or Dranesville, not Braddock. |
Oh I know Saundra. The reason she's not a serious candidate is her #OpenFCPS background (and I agreed with them). By serious I included electable, not just capable of doing the job. |
Quoted PP and this is the answer. It's been since 2011. |

Dannen won the endorsement and he’ll win the seat. That means the idiot block will have a 7-5 majority through next year.
Don’t complain when they continue to follow the lead of people like Karl Frisch and Sandy Anderson. You deserve to be unhappy with FCPS just like all those unhappy people at the boundary hearing today because you constantly vote for those who then leave you dissatisfied. |
The problem is most people don’t vote in these elections. So only the politically connected people turn out. And then we get more political yes men in office. I wish we could go back to appointed school board members. At least they would be one step removed from politicians. |
It was a blowout. Another win for Dem establishment and another loss for DCUM.
|
| Why are you saying that? Didn’t half of the democratic school board endorse Dannen? |
6 endorsed Dannen. 5 endorsed his opponent. All are Democrats. It’s unusual to have that type of division among the Democrats on the School Board. Some of those who supported Krezel are very active Democrats. They tended to be older, smarter, or more moderate. His win now results in a 7-5 split in the School Board, where those more likely to question Michelle Reid or Sandy Anderson will be marginalized and sidelined. It will accelerate the decline of FCPS. |
| I looked at the results. How did FCDNC. Control the online voting? |
I know all that. I’m asking why PP said it was a win for establishment Democrats when both were Democrats with endorsements. |
We had to register on a google form and be “verified.” Once that happened, you got a link to vote online. I am sad that Dannan won. We don’t need more yogurt, we need common sense on the school board. I wish someone sane would run for the Rs, but they are always openfcps types. |
