If a guy like that attacks someone, just walk away and let them get killed unless you want to go viral as the new face of white supremacy. |
I would not get involved. Let him kill anyone he wants to kill. |
As long as it's not you? |
Taking video is what I would do. I'm a woman and there's no way I could restrain a violent adult. Getting some video evidence with the perp's face is the only way I could help. |
Call 911 first. |
Update:
Judge has denied Penny's motion to dismiss https://www.foxnews.com/us/ny-judge-consider-marine-vet-daniel-pennys-motion-dismiss-case-jordan-neely-subway-chokehold-death |
By the time 911 responds to an attack on a bus or train, you would be already assaulted and/or dead. |
From that link - "Neely, who struggled with mental illness, had been arrested more than 40 times, including for numerous violent assaults on strangers in the subway, and was on the city’s "Top 50" list of homeless people most in need of outreach" Outreach?!?! |
Outreach = services, including mental health services He certainly needed mental health services but we have no real way of requiring it of those who need it but don't use it. |
We should be able to require mental health services or institutionalize them. Too often, there are truly terrible outcomes when we don't. |
Hopefully a jury will see this for what it is.... a prosecution as a result of the mob. And, the efforts of those who are trying to make Neely out to be some kind of hero (Al Sharpton, for one) will fail miserably. So many witnesses (and some of those were people of color) were scared for their lives. And, Neely was reportedly on K2 at the time. |
There should be laws allowing you to restrain and kill these people |
There should actually be laws requiring these people, who are a danger to other citizens, to be locked up and not allowed to threaten innocent people. Daniel Penny should not have had to restrain and ultimately kill him. This is not something that innocent people should have to live with because local authorities won't do their jobs to protect the public. |
Not me. They end up back on the streets the next day and I'm not going to be publicly called a witness. |
a witness or worse -- you'll be criticized for not helping |
