Our operating assumption is that everyone else is, at best, equal to us. That's why, we end up gaining the upper hand whereever we go (without stealing or violence BTW). I'm not sure where you are getting this from. Please provide a link. If you are referring to IQ, the test, which is not foolproof and is biased in favor of those with an education, then you may be correct. If you are referring to actual intelligence, you are wrong. Intelligence is equally distributed across all races. It's possible that the tails of the peak is slightly higher for a tested population but not in any significant way.

If your true intent is actually helping Black children, I'd refrain from repeating what you just said. Most people assume IQ is a true representation of raw intelligence when it is not and false statements like these are of zero help.

This shows that Asians do have an edge when it comes to high intelligence. I believe this actually supports the original posters point rather than rebuts it.

So how does wanting to be accepted by whites has anything to do with the success of younger Asian students? Are Asian students sucking up to white teachers to excel? Success starts from a young age by having a strong emphasis on education. There are lots of Asians here from the Caribbean and South Africa like the previous person said who were also slaves. Many of them came from poverty but managed to somehow become successful. Many of them are taxi drivers and have low paying jobs but managed to stay out of poverty. Yes some Asians are privileged but MANY came from poverty.

This is with open admission costing less than $50 for the year thru PTA.

Sorry, but no child who really belongs at TJ needs all that extra help. My child did none of those things, his after school hours were filled with sports. Yet, he was accepted to TJ and had a great four years there.

It’s the parents who believe that their children need all kinds of extra help to be accepted to TJ who are part of making it difficult for the admissions office to select the applicants for whom TJ truly is a good fit.
