Lily here. I'm down one pound! Very happy with my food choices this week. Lots of protein. Feeling full and not deprived!
Have a mimosa brunch this weekend which will not be great for the diet but I'm restricting myself the rest of the weekend and am planning for a long run Saturday morning. |
Hi all! I didn’t know the thread existed and started my New Years weight loss and stumbled across you wonderful women! I’m in
Kerry 43YO 5’3” I weigh 137-139. I am muscular but am had to stop working out because of a hurt foot. I’m back to working out. My nemesis is junk food at night. I take fruit snacks, peanut butter and cereal as a snack. I’ve cut it out and now eat an apple. I can only workout at night. Like 8:30-9:00 but do Beachbody or cardio dance every night. My husband and I plan to run twice a week and I also go to the gym. Working out is a love of mine but I eat like crap and can’t stop! I can cut out sweets for a length of time and then give in. Help! I need food ideas. What can I snack on that won’t ki my progress? I want to try intermittent fasting but I workout so late. I’m so happy you are all here. I’m rooting for everyone! |
Isabel here. I’ve lost what I put on last weekend but I’m really trying to not repeat the pattern. As the weekend approaches I can feel myself craving wine and then my willpower goes down the tubes once I’ve had a few drinks. I have to eat fewer than 1200 calories to lose, so I don’t have much wiggle room. We have plans with friends tomorrow night and then plans to watch football at a bar on Saturday. How can I get through this without undoing the work I put in during the week? |
Can you do at least an hour of cardio Saturday and Sunday? I’d try to burn calories before I consume them. |
Hi, can I join?
My name is Rachelle, I am 45, 5'2 and weighed in on Jan 1 at an all time high of 160. Since then I have lost 5 pounds !! In the last 11 days I have 1) not had any wine 2) had no grains 3) done 16:8 IF 3) been heavy lifting 3 times a week and 4) had very little sugar and definitely no sweets. The crazy thing is that eating like this now feels almost normal, my cravings for bread, wine and sweeets are gone and my appetite overall has shrunk. I'm determined to go to the end of Jan like this but have a trip to ththe Caribbean next week that worries me. I'll check in for inspiration. Thanks! |
ugh I believe I'm a sugar addict and can easily binge on sweets. I've had to cut them out completely. What about fruit smoothies or a 100 calorie bag of almonds to snack on? I find those filling when I have a food craving. |
Kerry here, and want to plus 1 this. Can you get in a workout both days of the weekend? Are you off Monday for the holiday? Be gentle with yourself and try to make a plan now. I find I’m better with a plan. As for me, I didn’t do well this AM. Friday is usually my treat day and I wasn’t going to eat any sugar but there were donuts at work! I need to have better willpower. |
I do a protein shake and that seems to help. I’m not a fan of nuts but am trying better to eat fruit. I already had sugar today. I told myself don’t do it but I did. Sigh. I’ll see if I can find some simple snacks that will help. Thank you!!! |
Fellow bad snacker here, if you find something healthy that works please share with the group. |
Caroline here, joining in.
Currently 177 (down 4 pounds this week thanks to some kind of stomach bug so want to keep it going although it's not a method i recommend to everyone) 5'9" 55 Plan - control portions, reduce carbs, reduce alcohol. I also like Diet to Go but am traveling too much for work the next few weeks to make it worthwhile. Exercise: I run 3-4 times a week and try to do 10k steps a day (including the running). Been debating joining a gym to do some classes. I lost 30 lbs a few years ago and kept it off until this past year when it crept back up. Trying to get back to 165 which was a decent weight for me, although not thin. |
I did pretty well this weekend with the exception of last night and today. Last night I went into binge snacking mode and didn't have enough willpower to just go to bed. I did stop it earlier than I typically would have. Today I was out with friends and we went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch and I ended up eating more chips than I had wanted to. I'm trying not to let it get me down and I made a big pot of soup and cut up veggies tonight to have for the next few days. I can't let a slip become a slide. I worked out 2 of the 3 days this weekend and intend on getting up tomorrow morning to walk on the treadmill.
How's everyone else doing? -Isabel |
Kate here - I'm actually very discouraged! My weight had held pretty steady at 129 for the past few months with very little exercise and lots of snacking. After xmas I've ramped up the exercise to 4x week, cut out most all snacking, and have kept meals consistent. Every week I've gone up a lbs! How is that possible??
I know in general we underestimate what we eat but I'm certain I'm eating less than I was and exercising more than I was when I was holding steady at 129. I did finally fully eliminate breastfeeding (I had been doing 1 couple ounce feed per day for the past month or so), could the change in hormones be causing weight gain? Anything I should get checked out by a doc? |
Brienne here. I was pretty bad this weekend--feasted on Indian food and then this AM had a biscuit. GAH!. But clothes still feel fine on me. Weightlifting continues and I can still swing Oathkeeper against any Whitewalker.
I'm such a geek. |
Lucy here. I'm up about 1.5 pounds since the start due to poor eating this past weekend on a ski trip. Have two days of work, then another trip planned for this Thursday-Monday. After that I won't be travelling anywhere so will be able to be more consistent with diet. I did manage to get in 4x lifting last week, plus 2x cardio. |
Brienne here. It's muscle. You are building more muscle by working out. Muscle weighs more than fat. TBH, I would throw the scale in the trash. Maintain your regimen and monitor how your clothes feel on you. You will see your weight redistribute and then the fat will begin to melt away. That's my 2 cents. |
