Arthur Ashe got AIDS from a blood transfusion, being stuck with an infected needle, transmission of bodily fluids. You should be careful because, obviously, you don't have the faintest idea of what you are talking about. |
Sorry, I misread your post. Please ignore. Thanks. |
Sorry it took so long for you to get laid. But at least you were a righteous virgin. |
It's getting so hard to tell who is the troll these days, vs who is sincere but ... different or opinionated. Especially with the influx of high school kids on DCUM. But some of the posters on this thread clearly don't belong in polite society. |
Jesus on muslims being terrorists . . . nothing. |
What was served at the Last Supper? |
John 14:6 - Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me".
How's that for conservative? |
The satan-leaning christians don't like that one. Watch as they try to twist it around like lucifer. Or they may ignore it and hope nobody notices that Jesus doesn't let you off the hook. You are either for hom or against him. He is either God in human flesh, and must be accepted as the savior in order to go to heaven and aviod hell, or he is a lying lunatic. |
Depends if you believe, as many of us liberals do, that a person can display the "christian" values Jesus taught, without actually being a Christian. Unless you actually believe that all the small kiddies in rural Indian villages are going strait to hell because they aren't avowedly christian (or Muslim or Jewish, the exact same point applies). |
Wow. Please tell us your religion, or whether you're agnostic/atheist. Or a troll! This phrase is actually a lot more flexible than you suggest. |
You also have to be concious of sin in order to be forgiven and "saved". Everybody sins numerous times every day. Sins aren't ranked, they are all grounds for death. Stealing, lying, cheating, sexual fornication, selfishness, willing sinful thoughts all need to be understood as sin and thrown on Jesus then attempted to be reversed. It is hopeless only when sin becomes a lifestyle and not accepted as sin. This is the ultimate humanism and the original attitude of Lucifer. It's never too late however, even the deathbed is not to late to see the light. |
You sound trolly, but here goes: Jesus says he is the only way to come to the Father. He does not mention what must be done, exactly, to be eligible to come to the Father. Christ, in his infinite justice, may deem all of us unworthy, in which case I hope we all like it hot. Or, in his infinite mercy, He may well give a pass to the righteous unbelievers. I don't know the ways of God, nor do I pretend to. See, I'm still just practicing. Maybe one day I'll be a good Christian. |
Wait, I always thought only the upperclass folks married between 14 and 18, and this was to solidify alliances, inheritances, etc., etc. If you were poor and female, you got married between 14 and 20, since you could clean house and pop out kids then, but a guy had to save up enough to support a household, and hence didn't get married until 25-30. Or was this more true in the Middle Ages than in 1st century Palestine? |
LOL! Jesus on judging other people to be sinners: don't do it, you shouldn't cast that first stone. |
Religion prof here.
People are confusing the recorded sayings of Jesus with Christian theology (ideas about God, trinity, sin, salvation, etc. that Christian thinkers developed, especially as Christianity grew as an institution). Remember, Jesus thought that he was actually being a good Jew. What we know of the historical Jesus is actually quite little. The four gospels contain very little information as to what Jesus actually said, and the one that is dated closest to the actual life of Jesus (Book of Mark) is the shortest. Moreover, the gospels have conflicting details. As for disagreements about how one gets "saved"--it depends upon which Christianity you believe in. For some, it comes only through the acceptance of Christ. For many, it does not (a lot interesting scholarship on the afterlife of "heathens"). For some, infants need to be baptized in order to be saved; for others, they do not. There are a lot of Christians and Christianities out there.... |
