My dad was in Vietnam with a unit from Texas, and he hated them until the day he died. In his stories, they were responsible for many deaths of fellow soldiers because they were so incompetent. And, as a southern white guy who was racist, he said the Hispanic members of the unit were the only ones he could trust. I think we would be fine without Texas.

Take all federal money, blow up the military bases, and help anyone who wants to leave. I don't really think Texans realize that their SS and Medicare payments will stop too, but you may not want to tell them.

No social security, medicare, FDIC, farm subsidies, federal highway program, federal prison system, CBP, Homeland security, military, access to US weapons, access to the US market, OSHA, unions, worker rights, SEC, etc. All companies with HQ in Texas or other states would be considered foreign companies and taxed according. Oil and gas producers would lose subsidies. Texas gets anywhere from 25-50% of it state budget from the federal government. No NFL or college football.

About 1/2 the state’s population would leave the state. It would be a very hard time in Texas. Texas would also reinstate slavery.

The Republic of Texas would just go bankrupt again after achieving "independence" and then come crawling back to the U.S. like it did 180 years ago.

Why would Texas hit those numbers? They have an economy already. Do you think corporations would leave Texas? I don't. It would be like operating in a foreign country. Texas would confiscate the military bases and begin selling off the weapons and perhaps land.

They would have renounced their citizenship. SS is a tax that disturbed from current years funding. It is not a saving account. Sorry no social security, Medicare and medicaid. Not going to happen. There will be no refunds of income tax either.
