Day after day, year after year. All these other people sniping at one another truly have no idea that it doesn't matter whether the Pledge is good or not; we just should be be having kids robotically recite it 180 days per year from age 5 to age 18. Again, why kids and not every adult in the US?

So, they will learn what it means? We were taught what it means. I taught first grade. We had a "flag holder" and a "pledge leader" every day. I tried to teach the kids what it means. And, contrary to the "robotic" comments, there is value in routine. And, it teaches proper behavior and respect.

just like you don't talk during a prayer--even if you are an atheist. It is disrespectful to those around you.

The fact that you can't differentiate between those two is exactly why this issue needed to be legislated.

Wow. This person thinks that educated people do not respect this country. I don't know what group he/she hangs with, but I have been around many highly educated military people and the ones I know respect the flag.

Wonder is this vet is teaching in FCPS--sounds like one whose "wife" tweets a lot.

I'm not surprised you don't understand. She did say "educated."

You must belong to the “tolerant” party.

Education is something you can definitely obtain even on your own, so no, I don't tolerate ignorance. You choose to be ignorant and that's on you.

Educated one, what is your take on this video?

what does this have to do with the pledge of allegiance?

It has everything to do with FCPS encouraging students allegiance to the Rainbow flag while discouraging them from allegiance to what the U.S. flag represents. No one can serve two masters.

Watch the entire video for context.

Who at FCPS is encouraging students to pledge allegiance to the pride flag? You are insane.

No, have they had instances of teachers asking students to pledge allegiance to the pride flag? Please link to the recording/new story.

Have you ever attended any of the School Board meetings? Have you ever visited classrooms in FCPS where you see many Rainbow/Trans/ BLM flags and barely any U.S. flagS?

You can also ask your children, if you have any. They’ll tell you the difference in attitude at school when referring to the U.S. flag and the activist flags.

Nice try. A mare existence of a pride flag does not equal to what you claimed which is that teachers are asking students to pledge allegiance to the pride flag instead of the American flag. Don't back paddle now. Im sorry that it offends you so greatly that teachers are trying to be inclusive of all of their students. I guess you're only patriotic as long as the country is straight and white.

They are tolerating your lack of knowledge on the subject. Educating someone is not the same as being intolerant.

An Army spouse here. This person does not understand "educated" if he/she thinks educated people cannot honor their country. He/she is also clueless if he thinks that many enlisted soldiers and non-coms are not educated. And, officers are all "educated" with college degrees--and many, many have advanced degrees.

In context of this conversation it’s just educated about constitutional right and that vets protect that right and you trying to take it away dishonors their work.

Most forms of protest are “disrespectful “ but it’s not dishonoring vats.
