What state is this?! |
Ironically, it was a student in West Virginia who ensured that future students didn't have to stand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Virginia_State_Board_of_Education_v._Barnette |
The bolded isn’t happening, however the opportunity to recite the Pledge occurs daily. |
Get ready to spew whatever you’re drinking - uber-liberal MASSACHUSETTS! I’m saving for the fines already.

What?! This part, about not drinking anything in front of kids, is absurd. I can guarantee you that the administration is drinking coffee, tea, soda, smoothies, etc. in their offices. But teachers, who are doing the hard work, can't? That's absurd! |

When I was in HS in the early 80s, we did not say the pledge of allegiance.
I can't remember exactly, but I don't think we did in MS either (1979). |
LOL. I just read this to my spouse who laughed and said that in three years of active duty, they never said the pledge once. Nor did they in their reservist years. And they can't think of anyone else who did. And when the Star-Spangled Banner is played at 6pm, you have to stand at attention if you're outside. So at 5:55, people start to scramble to get indoors, and by 5:59, this turns into a full-fledged panic whereby people start diving into any doors they can find, including closed ones. |
