I am not totally sure I believe my sister. My sister and mom have had a lot of drama over the years. They’ve been estranged for 10 years now. My sister struggles with depression and anxiety but she has a very successful career as a doctor. She’s married and has her own kids who have never met our mother and stepdad.

Do I talk to my mom about this? What about our other sibling?

I wouldn’t automatically believe your sister. I would still go and watch carefully.

Because it’s a big accusation and until proven guilty you can’t assume a person did something horrendous like that.

My H is your sister.

No you can’t protect your kids abuse happens in the blink of an eye.

His family still hangs out with his rapist and we are totally estranged from his family.

We would never be with it around people that thjnk it’s okay to bring children around a known abuser,

I personally know of two situations of girls I knew in high school and junior high who were being sexually
Molested by their stepdads and their moms knew.

I had one friend in eighth grade his stepfather abused her. She told her mother. I got the feeling that her mother believed her. However, she told her daughter that she couldn’t financially afford to leave the stepfather. So the girl had to keep living with her stepfather who was or had been abusing her. I should’ve called CPS but I was just a kid so I didn’t know to do that

I also know that teenage girls can be over dramatic and can make accusations that not true when they don’t like their stepdad and want full attention of their mother.
