Classic failure of misunderstanding a study. Those specific students would lose their places, because even among Asian applicants it's not necessarily all the highest scoring ones who are accepted. But it doesn't mean those 21% would lose their seats to non-Asians (most likely just other Asians) |
LOL please Have you met an Asian UMC parents ever? "Most want community college" LMAO |
Yeah well Asians are getting unfairly rejected at state schools, too. |
SFFA isn't. |

Imho there should be cases against all sort of discrimination in supposedly "fair admissions", not just race based but legacy, donation, geography, sports etc.
Colleges should come clear and let go of benefits afforded as non profits. |
If you raise too many points, it dilutes the case but winning one case reflects well on other valid points. |
| I don't support or back all the points lawyers in this case are making but at least these cases are making it a national debate. We can only better our policies and systems by discussion. |

The S.F.F.A. doesn't care about Asians. They want to keep the white numbers up and URM numbers down.
"The point of this observation from Chin, Cho, Kang, and Wu is that ending affirmative action for African American and Latino applicants will not end white advantage. If affirmative action is eliminated, negative action could still advantage white applicants over Asian Americans in competing for the bulk of admissions slots, as well as in competition for the smaller number of previously affirmative action admission slots. This makes ending such affirmative action an inapt way to battle discrimination against Asian Americans." https://www.uclalawreview.org/obscuring-asian-penalty-illusions-black-bonus/ |
From what i hear, cost and major or track is the deciding factor. Obviously majority isn't competitive enough to consider ivies a real choice no matter discrimination is in play or not. |
*competitive enough considering limited quota seats |
They still are reflecting light on discrimination, even if for their own gain. |
| As a parent of 3 wonderful, talented, bright Asian kids, I’m so tired of being told I should just cope because attacking AA will hurt other different minorities. I don’t want to do that, but you aren’t offering me any solutions to address my kids’ harm. Tell me what you want to do instead for my kids to have a fair shot given their stats and I’m all ears. |
| They are demystifying the myth of "holistic admissions" hence end result would make admissions more transparent. |
| This^. If colleges stop using holistic admissions and non profit status, they can stop being answerable to public. |
PP, whites here think your kids already have a fair shot. Let POTUS decide next year. It looked like they are going to kill it. |
