They probably wouldn’t be very well liked since it’s weird and authoritarian to dictate what people can and can’t do with their bodies and how they can or can’t present themselves. But I’m sure this would appeal to people who like the authoritarian aspect of it. How is that thought police? Answer the question if you can |
You're incredibly clueless and bigoted. Let me guess: you vote Dem? |
I agree. Nature abhors a vacuum and the Republicans saw an opportunity and exploited it. Upthread someone mentioned a firehouse of nonstop right wing propaganda that is not refuted, if Dems go in and listen to what communities want and need and do what they do best and actually assist people with finding solutions to their problems, this will turn around. |
Yes. It is the just-released UK NHS guidance after many years of unquestioned affirmation. |
What does any of this even have to do with the post? I’m so sick of Republicans being obsessed with trans people. It’s exhausting. Transgender people are real. We exist. The election is over, you can stop pretending to care about us now. Hating trans people isn’t a winning campaign strategy. I suggest you find a new one next cycle. |
Yeah - and cultivate some Hispanic candidates. Is that really so hard?! I am extremely frustrated with my state politics right now. |
The election said otherwise. MAYBE you mean "Miami-Dade whites and Hispanics are tired of Latinx, gender theory, race obsession and the rest of the nonsense that white liberals try to foist on normal humans." |
No. If a medical licensing authority decides a certain type of treatment should no longer be offered, your opinion won’t matter. |
|
I am curious how skin color factors into all of this. Hispanic is not a race it’s an ethnicity. There are white Hispanics, black Hispanics, and everything in between. My sense is that Hispanics with lighter skin and more European features have in many ways been accepted by whites in their community and are aligning with white conservatives. Hispanics with darker skin who are more black or indigenous looking may be less likely to achieve this same level of acceptance and may not reach the a higher SES either. Hispanics of color are probably less likely to see themselves as someone Republicans are looking out for.
My mom’s side of the family is Hispanic with more white European features, and they have seen some of this play out among other Hispanics we know. |
Miami is full of white supremacists. And yes, Cubans and Venezuelans like to think of themselves as white. |
Yeah, they also claimed that allowing your child to wear clothes associated with the opposite gender will harm them. |
Are you simple? The election precisely repudiated your idiocy. |
In my opinion, a lot although it also has a lot to do with internal community factors. Colorism does exist there as well while Guatemalans and Salvadorans are often looked down on by other Central Americans. |
I find it wholly ironic that Cubans and Venezuelans, many of whom are refugees and asylum seekers, would vote for a party that wants to limit refugees and asylum seekers. Typical R attitude. |
I mean you either trust the NHS or you don’t. |
