Can someone explain why Miami turned red?

I follow politics closely and most urban centers across the whole country (and the world) tend to be more progressive than their rural or suburban counterparts. People willing to live in a city generally like people more and have less fear of others. So why did Miami turn red this election and will it swing back?

This is OP- I get that it is Whites, Cubans, Brazilians, Venezuelans and Puerto Ricans that leaned republican. But what I don't understand is why? Typically people who choose to move to diverse cities don't have regressive politics. Why is Miami different or why is these Whites and Latino voters different?

Cubans in Miami are anti-communist. The Brazilians tend to be rich. The Venezuelans are both. The South Americans in Miami are elites and, in crude terms, white.

Spanish language radio in Miami is a firehose if disinformation.

Cubans and many Hispanic cultures are very conservative socially. They tend not to be politically active and not to vote in large numbers, but Cubans are the exception to that. And younger Hispanic Americans are more likely to vote than their parents.

People are tired of Latinx, gender theory, race obsession and the rest of the nonsense that white liberals try to foist on normal humans.

Fear of communism and socialism.

There has been unchecked disinformation in Spanish aimed at Hispanics in general. There were several news articles about that before the election.

Plus in Florida specifically, the various Spanish-speakers are generally centrist to begin with: culturally anti-Communist, so they'll never vote for anyone portrayed as a Socialist. Which was central to the disinformation campaign, and sadly, was not well rebuffed by Democrats.

The Democratic idol, John Kennedy, really screwed over the Cubans by not calling in air support during the Bay of Pigs. It sent an unfortunate precedent for Democrats.

Hatred is the only normal thing about you and we white liberals don't want that foisted on us.

It’s not racist at all to characterize as uneducated non-English speaking POC who vote how you don’t like. It’s also definitely not racist to assume immigrants don’t speak English. Congratulations on your progressive bona fides!
