An SRO stopped the shooter, you dummy. |
You Dummy, they removed the SRO's in MCPS. So, based off your post all the more reason WHY we should have them. |
Its bad parenting but its not just race/white related. |
Yes and many schools still have SROs. The right wing lies about that. "Taking SROs out of schools" came about as a right wing talking point when people would express shock over something like an SRO violently bodyslamming and handcuffing a 4th grader for having an anxiety attack. "Could we maybe have some reforms and better training to avoid this in the future?" and the answer always quickly comes from the right wing, "NO! NO REFORMS! POLICE NEED TO BE ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT EVEN IF THAT'S COMMITTING THEIR OWN VIOLENT CRIMES AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT!" and "YOU HATE POLICE AND LOVE VIOLENT CRIME!" It all degenerates into such stupidity every damn time. |
Starting with dumb parents glorifying guns and having them around the house unsecured. |
I think there are actually a good number of non-white school shooters; my understanding is that demographically the shooter population roughly reflects US demographics in general. There are more detailed stats at various gun control websites. There is a grotesque sickness in the difference in how school shootings with Black children as victims are portrayed versus white teens, however. What the shooters are, however, is overwhelmingly male. School shooting are a deeply male problem. |
MCPS does NOT have SRO's. This board is for those in the DMV. The ultra liberals had them removed - partly because their kids went to private school. Please tell me which schools in MCPS have SRO's. |
Kids can also buy them. So, its also uninvolved parents as well. |

Interesting first person accounts here:

Go grind your ax elsewhere and stop polluting this thread. It’s pretty disrespectful to the victims of this shooting. |
Sadly, this will happen here soon enough. |
Capitalizes the word "dummy", while calling someone else a dummy... 🤣 |
“NOW IS NOT THE TIME.” Spoiler alert: it’s never “the time.” |
This is such a stupid argument. Of course guns are the tool - they enable the perpetrators to literally kill tens of people per minute, accelerating the carnage and lethality of the killer’s act in a way that no other weapon save a grenade or bomb could do. Guns allow, for example, a class of first graders to be killed in a matter of minutes. Fifty plus people killed at a concert in a matter of minutes. I could literally go on and on and on because these mass killings with GUNS happen on the regular in this country. Without guns the carnage simply wouldn’t be as severe. And forget about mass shootings, even “normal” homicide would be harder to undertake without guns. Again, guns make this country more dangerous. Countries with common sense gun restrictions do not have this kind of carnage happening every day. Period. |
It’s not the guns. It’s the people - the mentally ill. The bad parents. The [fill in other deflection to attempt to make it seem that guns aren’t the enabler of the mass casualties that are the norm now in this country]. |
