Yes and many schools still have SROs.  The right wing lies about that.

"Taking SROs out of schools" came about as a right wing talking point when people would express shock over something like an SRO violently bodyslamming and handcuffing a 4th grader for having an anxiety attack.  "Could we maybe have some reforms and better training to avoid this in the future?"  and the answer always quickly comes from the right wing, "NO!  NO REFORMS!  POLICE NEED TO BE ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT EVEN IF THAT'S COMMITTING THEIR OWN VIOLENT CRIMES AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT!" and "YOU HATE POLICE AND LOVE VIOLENT CRIME!"  It all degenerates into such stupidity every damn time.[/quote]

MCPS does NOT have SRO's.  This board is for those in the DMV.  The ultra liberals had them removed - partly because their kids went to private school.
