I didn't understand your last part?

Yes, I also worked in juvenile court, and I don't think anyone is helping violent kids by slapping them on the wrist. Whether or not he has terrible, neglectful parents (obviously he does) - he needs to be in jail.

NVM - I get what you were saying. I am not sure what the answer is, to be honest. But I do feel strongly that his parents should be charged.

Did you see the picture of the work he turned in in math class? He was begging for help and he never got it. He was making it clear that his life was miserable and not worth living. Instead of helping him they continued to treat him as an annoyance and bought him guns. I wish his parents had to serve his jail time. I wish someone had taken him away from them.

His parents will not pay enough for what they caused.

This is the best outcome. Rather than dying in a blaze of glory, future school shooters have this to see as a possible outcome.

+1

His named won't even be mentioned in court. His name will not matter. Shooters want their names to matter, but they don't.

Also, his parents are going down, too.

Jennifer Crumbley found guilty of 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter. Historical sentence will set a precedent.

Wow. I am shocked. Well maybe pleasantly surprised.

I am surprised but having read about the details of the case against her, I am totally comfortable with the conviction. I don't actually think this opens a door to parents always being held responsible in cases like this, as the other thread worried. When you look at the facts, these parents were criminally negligent in their parenting, PLUS bought him the gun.

Curious what happens in the case agains the father now.

What a horrible, horrible story full of tragedy at every turn. I don't know if this outcome will help any of the families of the murdered teens, or any of the classmates who were terrorized and traumatized by the event, get any closure. But it does feel like a just outcome to a very sad story.

This is good news. More parents need to be held accountable for the kids with violent tendencies.

I just hope the mother is not punished more than the father.
