Two men are sleeping with THAT?

This shocking killing...and we have moved on. Did anyone wonder how Christmas was for these families that lost their children? Are we really heartless people who can continue with our ordinary lives?

Mass shooting in Colorado a couple days ago and I haven’t seen any news on it at all.

It hasn't stopped being news. None of them have any further court appearances until early January. They are all rotting in jail. When an update occurs, I'm sure it will be news. There is nothing to report on right now.

Small update. At a recent hearing the prosecutors lay out more of their case against the parents, while arguing against lowered bail. Judge maintains current bail amount and parents remain in custody.

Court testimony revealed the reason the parents refused to take their kid home with them from the school. They had a horseback riding lesson that same day. I'm completely serious.

Pennock testified first on Tuesday and reviewed about 28 pages of Facebook messages with Jennifer Crumbley. The Crumbley parents owned two horses at the barn and had a riding lesson scheduled for the day of the shooting, she said.

I hope parents are found guilty.

Also the mom immediately (like that same day) texted her boss and begged not to be fired because of kid. So messed up.

A Michigan judge on Thursday ordered the parents of 15-year-old school shooter Ethan Crumbley to stand trial on involuntary manslaughter charges.
Rochester Hills District Court Judge Julie Nicholson said following a two-day preliminary examination for Jennifer and James Crumbley that she found enough evidence to send their case to circuit court.

'If they had exercised reasonable care for their son, Hana , Tate, Madison, and Justin would still be here,' Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said, referring to the four slain Oxford High School students. 'It was a direct result of this gross negligence.'

McDonald said Tuesday that her office has been spent the past several weeks meeting with parents of the Oxford High students who died and those whose children were wounded. They've also met with students who survived the attack.

“The one thing they really want is certainty and they want to know that the Crumbleys will be held accountable for their actions,” McDonald told reporters. “There is a lot that that community is dealing with, and having your child be shot at school is something that I don't think we’re really wired to understand.”

Can't wait for those parents to fry - one way or another.

Them, and those like them. Their denial and enabling caused this.

More than half of those are self-homicides.

Where did the school voucher comment come from? School should take seriously any violent threat and transfer kids to alternative schools.

DP here. My guess is that school shootings at private schools are incredibly rare.

But realistically, all school shootings are incredibly rare events, and your child stands a greater chance of being struck by lightning than shot in a school.

There is a real paranoia - as in an irrational, illogical fear - of our own child being at risk from a school shooting.

The risk of dying from a car crash on the way to school is far far higher. This whole thing is driven by media sensationalism. Examine the numbers for yourself and make rational decisions.

There should be no risk. We have become too lenient in addressing physically aggressive, violent, and emotionally disturbed individuals.

“No risk” is not a reasonable goal.

But the US Surgeon General just published a report proving there is an unprecedented mental health crisis among our youth. That is a fact.

Phones are a major cause, especially when paired with dangerous social media like TikTok and Instagram. Add in the isolation of Covid and it’s obviously the perfect mix for damaging a generation.

The kids are not alright.

Agree WRT to toxic TikTok and other social media.

Why does toxic social media get a pass when it comes to harming our children?
