Don’t drugs kill way more? Every death is a travesty. |
I glanced at this and thought hmm Turkey is close to us. Wait, Italy had lots of gun deaths? Then I realized the US line was waaay above. I thought that was the chart border! |
| Stop resurrecting threads like this. It's jarring to see this title in the feed. I thought there was a new shooting. |
|
Wow, this kid looks exactly like someone I know. THAT is jarring.
For ongoing trials, people will discuss it. You don’t have to open the link. Or, given how many DCUMers follow true crime, Jeff might consider a separate sub, not subject to recent status. |
You know I was just thinking yesterday (shhhhhh!) how it’s been a while since the last horrific mass shooting and how nice that is. But then I remembered that school is starting everywhere over the next few weeks and doubtless soon after a bloodbath. |
one of the most heartbreaking videos I have viewed and wish I wouldn't have. That woman is a hero. |
I know, but people should also take it seriously - so many do not. One of the comments stated that she is more heroic than any of the Uvalde cops, and that stood out to me (in addition to her testimony). |
He already said he won’t. True crime brings out too many internet crazies. |
Omg maybe you need a break from DCUM if you find this so jarring. Some of us appreciate the update and can handle it. |
| I feel so sorry for that kid. Again and again he was asking for help and his parents did nothing meaningful. Can you imagine growing up with parents who "nothing" you? |
+1 This is Ethan's psychotic break (might be disturbing to watch). It helps to explain what the killer was experiencing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDJjin_rgrI |
+1 but oh gosh, I wish I hadn’t watched that. |

That poor kid, I feel for him just as I do for the kids he killed and their surviving family. He was not in his right mind, but because of how broken our criminal justice system is (former defense attorney and prosecutor here) he will most likely end up paying as if he was at the time of the act.

I didn't understand your last part? Yes, I also worked in juvenile court, and I don't think anyone is helping violent kids by slapping them on the wrist. Whether or not he has terrible, neglectful parents (obviously he does) - he needs to be in jail. |
