1. A 10 year-old Ohio girl is raped and goes to Indiana to have an abortion.

2. Ohio AG (a Republican) goes on Fox and says the story is a "fabrication" and slams the Indiana paper that first reported it.

3. A few days later the rapist is arrested. No apology from Ohio AG.

4. Indiana AG (also a Republican) enters the picture. Says he plans to investigate the physician who performed the abortion, claiming without providing evidence that she has a history of failing to report abortions as required under Indiana law. He goes on Fox to talk about this.

5. A simple records search confirms that the physician did indeed file the required paperwork. The Indiana AG does not apologize.

So, basically, ambitious Republican AGs make up lies to gain attention, go on Fox to amplify these lies, and then when they are found to be lying, they don't apologize or clear up the misinformation they helped spread.

You forgot: forced birthers threaten the life of the doctor who helped the raped child.

And weaselly forced birthers on here refuse to accept that they’re wrong and that their politics of misogyny are hurting people.

It’s true. They have no regrets. See the other thread created just for them to be out and proud with no repercussions. Call them what they are and you’ll be deleted though. It’s sickening.

Which thread was it that a right winger openly stated that we needed someone like Trump, but smarter, like Pinochet. They’re openly fascist.

This site is a microcosm. I think it probably attracts a lot of important eyes but a lot of right wing extremists. I beg of you, people who are not fascist but keep supporting the GOP - you have to abandon your party. Your party is dead, one of those insects that has been stung by a wasp and is no longer under its own control. Your continued votes, your love of your family and its tradition of voting GOP, your love of country (and being told that Democrats hate the country) - they’re being highjacked. You cannot vote for this party anymore. The GOP will destroy America.

+1. And keep in mind that this is the environment in which doctors deciding whether to perform abortions have to operate. So, when one of these gaslighting forced birthers are claiming "well, of course the law allows an abortion in this case because the 10 year old's health is in danger," they are being grotesquely disingenuous. One of these cynical Republican AG's or maybe a Prosecutor will claim there was really no danger and the "lawless" doctor needs to be prosecuted.

Prosecuted, fined into oblivion, license revoked, tried for murder…

Good for her. I hope this helps, but sadly I believe it'll just make the people harassing her dig their heels in and behave worse.

Do you have kids?

It doesn’t matter if they throw a temper tantrum. You still have to hold them accountable. Or they will continue to push the boundary.

Yes, I have kids. I don’t think she should back down. I said good for her. I’m worried for her that people are threatening her safety, and I’m afraid that a strong woman taking a stand against one of their leaders will make them want to fight back harder. I’m just concerned; I don’t want her to be physically harmed or have to live in fear. Sorry that didn’t show in the other post.

Im worried the forced birthers are going to try to kill her, because she tried to help a raped child.

A positive action you can take or share about, is to donate to the GoFundMe for this provider to pay legal and security costs. I donated. Every little bit helps and I feel like I’m part of the “standing up for what’s right” now. She will donate any excess to other providers in similar cases.
