How horrific is this: https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2022/07/01/ohio-girl-10-among-patients-going-indiana-abortion/7788415001/

A ten year old girl was six weeks and three days pregnant when she tried to obtain an abortion in Ohio. She needed to travel to Indiana to obtain an abortion. This is sick.

It isn't banned in indiana yet?

but yes, sick - this child has been abused already.

Yuck. Was this a rape case or incest? That’s like first period pregnancy. Has CPs been called?

She can do a medical abortion 1-2 hours away then. Take the pill and stay home a couple days.

Does she have a lawyer or what is her home life situation that 10 yos are getting pregnant?

She is getting her abortion where she lives. And has a lawyer helping her. Sick case of child abuse.

Assuming she is pregnant.

Seems odd her lawyer or doctor would go to the local press about this and hypotheticals on future state law instead of discussing how they can imprison the abusive caretakers.

How on earth do you know that isn’t already being handled?

These are the sad and enraging stories that will push abortion to be legal everywhere once again.

Yes dear, we assume when the article says the child is pregnant, the child is pregnant. What future law are you talking about it? The child lives in Ohio where there is a 6 week abortion ban.

This is so sad on multiple levels.

Ohioans are content with a 10 year old birthing her sister. Republican family values.

Yeah. You know what we’re really, really great at in this country? Locking up sexual predators.

It took a massive publicity campaign to reach the incredibly low bar of *testing rape kits* from rapes which had already been reported. A few states haven’t even started. Will it shock anyone to learn those states are also the ones passing restrictive abortion laws?

The pregnancy of a 10 year old ALWAYS stems from rape. Whether or not it was incest as well.

I'm sorry, are you saying she could have consented?

Since Friday, the abortion clinics where Dr. Katie McHugh, an independent obstetrician-gynecologists works have seen “an insane amount of requests” from pregnant people in Kentucky and Ohio, where it is far more difficult to get an abortion.

A ban on abortions after six weeks took effect on last week in Ohio. Last Friday the two abortion providers in Kentucky shut their doors after that state’s trigger law banning abortions went into effect.

Indiana soon could have similar restrictions.

This is nuts.
