Of course the doctor reported it.

That’s the issue. The AG went on national television and announced that he was going to investigate whether she reported it when she already had which was incredibly quick and easy to confirm. What a dirtbag. |
And for the idjit who’s just asking questions but can’t bother to read links that answer them: “Bernard filed the required abortion disclosure, known as a "terminated pregnancy" form, on July 2, two days after she performed the girl's abortion, according to a copy of the form IndyStar received Thursday from the state health department. State law requires the forms to be filed within three days for patients under age 16. The form shows Bernard indicated the girl was seeking an abortion as a result of being abused.” |
I said upthread that I didn’t trust either of the AGs because Republicans lie. Forced birthers, appalled by what their crap politics have wrought, tried to “both sides” their replies, but the truth is clear. Republicans cannot be trusted in any facet of public life because they do not feel like they are bound by the law or even common decency. |

There’s a gofundme for Dr. Bernard, who now needs a security detail. https://www.gofundme.com/f/obgyns-supporting-dr-caitlin-bernard?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet |
So many people have ended up needing security after Republicans put a target on them. It’s appalling and thanks for the link. |
Exactly. |
Has there been anything verifying it’s a legit GFM? If so, I would absolutely donate. It’s awful that she has to hire security to protect herself and her family from psychotic, murderous forced birthers. |

The forced birthers really, really don’t care. Their first response is that these cases are a tiny minority (so the destroyed life/ body/ health of a 10-year old is just collateral damage that doesn’t matter to them). Then they will say that the 10-year old’s family didn’t protect her from getting raped so it’s just what happens when you are a shitty parent. And if the 30-year grandmother doesn’t want to raise it, they can put it up for adoption. The they will pivot and say the vast majority of abortions are for sluts who shouldn’t be having sex and should therefore take “personal” responsibility for their immoral behavior and certainly shouldn’t be “rewarded” with anything decadent like healthcare, medical leave or childcare because “they” (the forced birthers) were able to live responsibilly and save money and raise their kids without government support l so why should slutty women get something they Didi. Then they will say that there isn’t a large enough domestic supply of infants (because they don’t want black/ brown foster kids with all their “baggage,” so if you don’t want the baby, a “novel Christian-fundy couple would be happy to raise and brainwash it to perpetuate their beliefs that only they know what is right and moral. |
This right here is why can’t wait to fix this. People WILL get exhausted. It is exhausting. Need to strike while the iron is hot or see the horrific consequences in hindsight a generation from now. |
+1 I’d like to donate too, if it is legit. It is appalling that a doctor who helped a child victim of rape is being targeted by violent forced birthers. Absolutely appalling. I honestly do not know how anyone who considers themselves a good person can support the forced birthers at this point. The evidence of their immorality, and cruelty is stark and plain for all to see. When you are on the side of forcing ten-year-old raped children to hear the child of their rapists, can’t you see you are wrong? |

Let's recap for those who are late to the thread:
1. A 10 year-old Ohio girl is raped and goes to Indiana to have an abortion. 2. Ohio AG (a Republican) goes on Fox and says the story is a "fabrication" and slams the Indiana paper that first reported it. 3. A few days later the rapist is arrested. No apology from Ohio AG. 4. Indiana AG (also a Republican) enters the picture. Says he plans to investigate the physician who performed the abortion, claiming without providing evidence that she has a history of failing to report abortions as required under Indiana law. He goes on Fox to talk about this. 5. A simple records search confirms that the physician did indeed file the required paperwork. The Indiana AG does not apologize. So, basically, ambitious Republican AGs make up lies to gain attention, go on Fox to amplify these lies, and then when they are found to be lying, they don't apologize or clear up the misinformation they helped spread. |
You forgot: forced birthers threaten the life of the doctor who helped the raped child. |
