Lochte Robbery Story: True or False

Anonymous
Bentz has given his version of events. He says no one entered the bathroom. They did urinate outside the back of the building and Lochte pulled off a loosely anchored ad. So while there was some damage, they did not trash the restroom as the Brazilians described. Hope someone investigates that fantastical tale by the authorities.

Welp another day, another shameless American manchild makes us all cringe.
Le sigh.

But, if they never entered the bathroom, how did they damage the precious soap dispenser?!?

They didn't, the bathrooms were locked which is why they had to pee outside .

Why the heck didn't they immediately explain what really happened, instead of concocting a crazy story and then sticking by it?

Eh I've been to Colombia and been subjected to a similar extortion. And no I didn't destroy any property.

Is there really a difference between being robbed and being extorted at gunpoint?

No there isn't... And the Olympic-powers-that-be basically allowed Brazil to extort 12,000 to allow a swimmer to leave. It's outrageous.

Hopefully they think long and hard before allowing another 3rd world country to host the games in the future.

Because you know how much it cost to replace a commercial door and soap dispenser including labor--not to mention the fact that they would have done jail time in America for such a crime.

I'd say they got off easy.

I'm assuming you don't live in DC, PP. No one here is doing hard time for knocking down a door.
You're a privileged moron. People have been jailed for less.

They didn't break a door or a soap dispenser. 1 sign was taken off a brick wall outside. They also peed in bushes because they couldn't find bathrooms.

How can you get so much wrong in such a short post? For starters: Do you really not know that DC isn't in Virginia?

My husband was in Dominican Republic for a bachelor weekend and they got stopped by police on the way to the airport and had to pay money to be allowed to keep going. Shakedowns happen in third world countries. If the athletes don't know this or won't conduct themselves appropriately the IOC should only have the games in developed nations.

I almost want to go back and re-read all those posts authoritatively describing how Lochte ripped the door off its hinges all Hulk-like just for laughs.

I think that was Singapore.
I don’t agree that caning is an appropriate punishment for this particular “crime.”

Effective because no more Americans go to Singapore and vandalize stuff.

Perhapse Lochte getting caned could be part of the ending ceremonies
