| Do you people saying he is answering to his mom and that's why he and all his buddies made up a robbery actually know who Ryan Lochte is? He is a grown man in his 30s. He is not one of the 14 year old Chinese gymnasts. |
Not all millionaires have instant access to their cash. Especially if they are incompetent little shits. Plus most Olympians are not millionaires. http://www.sportsmanagementdegreehub.com/olympic-athletes-salaries/ |
Well, that explains why they would initially say they weren't robbed. It does not explain why they would say they WERE robbed when they could have just said they were out at a party - which they were. |
But Ryan Lochte, whom we are talking about, IS a millionaire. And it's hard to believe he has no access to money in Brazil, but his mom does. |
LOL right. With all the drug testing they have to do. |
| Do they drug test after the event is over? |
Link? His family had their home in foreclosure after the last Olympics. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/08/07/gabby-douglas-ryan-lochte-why-families-of-america-s-olympics-athletes-are-broke.html |
YES They can drug test them for steroids or illegal meds at any point. |
What does this have to do with Lochte being a millionaire? A certified Olympic medalist, Ryan Lochte is an American swimmer with an estimated net worth of $3 million as of 2012. |
Ryan Lochte net worth: $6 Million |
His father is on the record as stating he will not take money from Lochte to pay for the house. http://heavy.com/sports/2016/08/ryan-lochte-net-worth-endorsements-sponsorship-deals-salary-medals-career-stats-olympics-rio-how-much-money/ |
This article is from 2012. Also - did you READ the article and what it actually says? |
+1. First of all, the article says he is a millionaire. Second of all, if your arugment is that the whole family is so broke, that lends no credence to the theory that his mom has money to lend him but he is broke. You obviously don't like Lochte and that's fine, but your theory makes no sense. |

The point is...he told his mother (for whatever reason), never intending for the story to get out. Once it was out he first tried denying, then had to backtrack.

The bottom line is that Rio officials have more to gain by not admitting this crime than the swimmers have to gain by making up a false story.
The selection of Rio as an Olympic site was a bit controversial. And, they are trying really hard to give the appearance that all is well in the city and with the Olympics specifically. But, everything is not all rainbows and roses. Several Olympians have been victims of crime and a coach has even been killed in a taxi cab accident. And, then there is the controversy of body parts washing up on the beaches, the gross condition of the waters, the green diving pool (for which the explanation is still questionable), very expensive cameras being stolen, and the camera falling and injuring several a couple days ago. Yes, bad things happen at the Olympics. But, it seems to me the Rio folks are trying to cover a lot of it up........ |
