Lochte Robbery Story: True or False

If you really think they were all part of a conspiracy to file a false police report (there doesn't appear to be any question of whether the other two were with Lochte and Feigen), why wouldn't you pursue all four of them?

I think the other 2 have already left Brazil.

The reports I read said it was unknown whether the other two were in Brazil, and one of them (Bentz, I think) wasn't scheduled to leave until tomorrow. The only one who was known to have left was Lochte.

And even if you think some may have left already, why not get the warrants for all four in case the other actually are there?

+1

Common practice in some areas, and this is one.

I kind of feel like he made up a lie to get out of trouble with his mom -- like a 15 year old kid. Could it be possible that he bought some drugs? Would they test for anything after his races were over?

Scenario -
RL calls his mom and asks for more money. She asks what happened to the money she gave him yesterday. He makes up a story about being robbed, even though it went up his nose?

He gets the other guys to corroborate since they were all using and don't want to get caught or stripped of medals.

Why would Ryan Lochte need to ask him mother for money? I don't get this theory at all.

His mom likely called him while he was out ... (Maybe she wanted to make sure he was in bed and at the village) rules were I believe not to leave the village or something about not leaving in a cab. She calls, he doesn't answer.. She figures something is up and to get out of it he says oh we were out late because we got robbed! Etc... She worries tells the media and bam! Story gets leaked and Ryan has to cover his ass and act like it really happened.

Lochte's attorney says he is already back in the US and has no plans to return for follow up questioning.

Do you think the account was made up? I can't figure out a motive, and think it's odd that FOUR individuals would be in on a false account. At the same time it seems quite coincidental that out of all of the athletes, this happened to Lochte.

Lochte is already back in the US. Good luck seizing his passport and detaining him.

They stayed on a cruise ship. They did not stay in the olympic village so this makes no sense. Not having phone on you is not a crime.

Does this have any basis in reality or is it a completely fabricated scenario?

I think his lawyer hauled his ass back to the US once the Brazilian investigation started heating up.

He couldn't remember what the cab looked like, or any other details. Smells like BS.

Ryan Lochte is a 32 year old millionaire. Do you really think he is calling his mom for cash?

He is 32 years old. He is not answering to his mother. Good God.

I believe him. Officials in Rio don’t want negative stories out there, be they about the crime, the dreadfully filthy waterways, or the green pool.

Smells like a drunk person.

Isn't Lochte a grown up? There is no reason her would need to lie to his mommy.
I imagine they were loose and relaxed because they were not sober at the time of the incident.
This olympics has had some real issues. Rampant crime was to be expected.

I can't imagine why he AND ALL HIS FRIENDS would lie and say they were robbed.

I can totally imagine why they would initially have pretended they were not there (buying drugs, etc.)

I can totally imagine why the Rio police would say there is no evidence (saving face, inside job.)

He was arguing with the SOB BEFORE he knew he had a gun. Once he brandished a gun, Lochte did what he asked.
