This characterization of Feigen and his testimony by the Brazilian official, and the misdemeanor crime with less than 2 years in prison is pretty despicable. Why on earth was Rio selected to host the Olympics? Oh, that's right, they paid a lot of bribes for the honor.

Lochte is a confirmed asshole, but the Brazilian justice system is confirmed chock full of criminals.

American laws etc. don't apply in Rio. Don't like it? Don't go to Rio and act like an ass.

The demand wasn't paying for "something". It wasn't a case of "I want this and don't have money, you pay for it." The demand was for damages the athletes caused.

And this is why a corrupt country should not be allowed to host the Olympics. If you don't want to be allowed to shakedown people, you don't get to host countries from all over.

Agreed. It's also a good reason for guests in such a country to be very, very careful.

A sign was taken off a wall it looked like a poster board in a metal frame from the video footage. Not sure how it came off the wall.

Apparently if a sign falls off a wall you can get robbed at gunpoint and then the rest of the world hates you because hey, it was vandalism. Um no it was a sign.
