Pathetic of a story of these dummies had inadvertently broken Brazilian law while feeding baby animals at a petting zoo or something, but they tore up a gas station then made a false police report.

And peed outside the store! I don't think they made a police report though. Lochte bragged about the robbery on twitter or facebook, and that's how it came to the attention of the police. He made up the robbery story to impress people with how he stood up to the robbers while his fellow teammates supposively cowered on the ground. Douche.

The demand wasn't paying for "something". It wasn't a case of "I want this and don't have money, you pay for it." The demand was for damages the athletes caused.

And this is why a corrupt country should not be allowed to host the Olympics. If you don't want to be allowed to shakedown people, you don't get to host countries from all over.

So say you were shopping for some snacks or pumping some gas at said gas station/convienence store... Four muscular guys who had been drinking show up, it's what 5/6am and they wander around the back of the store, walk around to the front, pee on a wall or two and possibly break some items in the restroom ... Do you get into your car after pumping your gas or buying your snacks or do you go in and complain? Do you feel safe while you are there because they are what only 6'2-6'4 and not bothering anyone or anything right? You're ok with that, so you just mind your business or do you intervene and say something?
